    Time for the AI/Human SKill discussion

    This is a huge issue for many people, 1st of all I dont have any idea why they added this for Human this year, STOP ADDING STUPID SLIDERS 2K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but anyway, Last year I had AI Skill at 80.....This year many respected people have this at 100, while some are very low and even the well respectd Baa has this at 0.......This is very difficult to find out whats a good place to have this slider setting when some are at 100 and some are at 0, lol.......whats the deal people lol


    And btw last year i had AI COntact at 60 and would get about 10K's a game with Pedro, this year i have put it at 35 and get like 4-5 with Santana.....guess they really tweaked this for 2K8 huh

    I use a modified version of therizing's sliders and ALWAYS keep AI skill at '0'. AI Skill is a cheat the cpu uses to get clutch hits to keep the score close. Even at '0' they manage to hit some pretty tough pitches in very clutch moments which drives me mad...

    When it's 2 outs, runner on second, 2-2 count and I throw a slider down and away with 99 gesture and they go the other way with it for the go ahead run... It makes me start wondering if there is a 'comeback code' programmed in the game ala NBA 2K8. Even with skill at '0' it happens WAY to often.

      Now that I think about it I'm almost positive that 2K or someone else confirmed last year that "Skill" referd to the size of the sweet spot of the bat.

      I was reminded of this last night when I was looking at replays of scrubs crushing balls to the warning track when it looked like something should have been a foul tip. So essentially with Skill up near 100, almost the entire bat is the sweet spot.

        Skill may raise the sweet spot but it also on both ends gives a greater amount of variety in hits and this is why we set it to 100 and with it at 100 it makes the game very much more real.

        AI Skill low score games with it at 100 and it will also depend on where you have the AI Contact and AI Power.

        My slider set has AI Skill at 100 but on the other hand Contact has been lowered and AI Power lowered even more so.

        In order to make a slider set work right you must set sliders in combination with each other not just jack 1 slider one way or they other you have to take in account the other sliders for that feature.

        IMO if you lower AI Power, AI Contact and set AI Skill to 0 this because a User cheat to stop AI from hitting and playing good.

          Do you ever strike out the CPU with it AI Skill at 100? I don't think I even go to two strikes unless they were on foul balls.

            I threw a no hitter with Bedard and got like 6 to 9 K's.

            With my set of sliders I get them looking as well as swinging and God do I love it when I get a guy like Matt Holiday out looking.

            Allot of times in a 3 and 2 they get caught looking and think they got walked and take a trout to 1st just to have the Ump send them to the bench with a STRIKE 3 YOUR OUT!
