The constant diving from the AI is frustrating. The problem is the only way to stop it is to either make them so fast they don't need to dive, or zero them out like you mention which makes them let too many thru. And to think that Brinkman said this year their main focus was gameplay? I shudder to think if that wasn't the focus.

Another thing that's really souring me is the pop-ups around the plate. You can mitigate this somewhat by turning the foul slider down. But the thing is, 90% of these shouldn't be pop-ups at all, but foul balls straight back. If you think about it, there are almost no foul balls right back into the screen as the game is now. The hitting mechanic is still messed up and so balls that should be foul tips instead turn into pop-ups.

I do not post many replies but i just had to reply and say that these sliders are outstanding. They are perfect for my skill level. I was having a hard time finding sliders for my GIants franchise. They are not a strong batting club but through 20 games this season using various sliders I avg'd a little more than 1 run/game with a .122 bat avg. That was too low even for them. After 10 games my avg's have increased with, more imprtantly, more variety in game results. Thanks again for your hard work.

Wow, sounds like you have done a ton of work and research to get the sliders as close to realistic as possible. I am definately going to give these a shot as soon as my 360 gets back from the morgue. It died on me about 2 weeks ago and I'm jonesin' for my 2k8!!!

You're welcome! Don't be afraid to tweak the human settings tho, no matter what slider set you choose to use. Everyone's different and might need more contact, faster pitch speed, etc to allow them to hit at a level they feel comfortable at. Currently I'm having a horrible slump with my Rockies, can't hit for nothing...last 10 games .221 I think...grr.

I see them and I have my settings exactly like Bahnzo. The seeing eye singles usually come when the ai infield is positioned wrong. The only time I can stretch it is if I have a very fast runner.

i set my setting exactly as bahnzo asked and even upped tcp to 90 and threw a one hitter with harang vs the dbacks, 90% of their contact was weak rollers or pop ups in the infield. I need a set that challenges me as a pitcher. I give up on avg 2-3 runs on all star default, I just can't hit.

Re: My Pitch FX Tuned Sliders

I've been trying these sliders out. I really appreciate the research and hard work behind these sliders. One thing I have noticed over a little less than 10 games with these sliders is the AI throws A LOT of pitches outside the strike zone. And looking at the sliders, I can see why. The "throw strike" overall sliders are set very low.

Bahnzo, can you let me know why you set these sliders so slow. Maybe its in your post somewhere, but it would be easier if you told me.

So, what ends up happening in my games is that I get walked a lot because I become extremely patient. In addition, an average of 2-3 wild pitches/passed balls on the AI's side. The pitch counts are realistic given the number of balls though.

Is anyone else seeing this? Maybe I should tweak these particular sliders that deal with throwing strikes???

If you look at the data in the first post, they need to be this low to give you an accurate amount of balls -vs- strikes. MLB average is like 63% strikes, so the only way to get these amount of balls is to have low settings like that. If there are too many passed balls (which happens), then you need to edit the opposing catchers before the game and raise their rating for block pitch.

If you feel you are walking more than 4 times a game, then try either raising the AI Corner setting, or fiddle with the throw strikes slider. It's certainly possible you are more patient than I at the plate and getting more balls because of it.

I'm seeing way too many doubles and triples with this slider set.

                    What should I lower?Human Skill or should I raise A.I OF Speed/Reaction?

I've been using this slider set since the start of my franchise and I've made some changes that I think make this set even better.

                      Here are the changes...

                      *Human*

                      Batting Skill: 30
                      Batting Power: 32
                      Steal Success: 42
                      Infielder Speed: 0
                      Infield Reaction: 65
                      Injuries: 45
                      Pitch Speed: 70 or higher

                      *A.I*

A.I Outfielder Speed: 40 ( this helped reduce the crazy number of triples and doubles I was hitting. At 35, the A.I outfielders couldn't catch up to any balls hit in the gap or any bloops to shallow outfield. Now the A.I robs you of gappers and bloopers more often.
                      A.I:Infield Reaction: 25
                      A.I Take Strike Overall: 61
                      A.I Take Strike Behind: 6
                      A.I Skill: 25
                      A.I Contact: 80
                      A.I Power: 28
                      A.I Corner: 5
                      A.I Change Speed: 25
                      A.I Throw Strike Overall: 0
                      A.I Throw Strike Ahead: 0
                      A.I Throw Strike Behind: 0
                      A.I Meat Pitch: 0

Oh ****, I just noticed that your sliders were meant to be used for classic hitting...I use swing stick 2.0.
