    Success - 55
    COntact - 25
    Power- 90
    Hit Direction - 40

(so far in my mets season the only homeruns i have hit come when i use the left stick)

just wondering if anyone like Beltran or Wright will still hit some occasional homeruns when im not trying to hit it out of the ball park.

also will Reyes or Murphy ever have a homerun since im never trying to influence a homer out of these types of hitters.

Im hoping 2k didnt drop the ball here and make it so you only hit homeruns when trying to hit homeruns, that would be sad

      joe,

i too started my mets season 0-3, against the reds but didnt buy the inside edge and allowed 2 walk off home runs, very un k-rod like! when i bought the inside edge mike pelfry went the distance on a 3 hitter against the marlins...so i dont know if it's the importance of buying the inside edge to know what guys hit or not. also found out high and tight equals AI home run...doesnt matter they get around on it and hit it out!

just played a game with your sliders and ad great results. I struggled at the dish but that was because Braden absolutely fooled me. Final score was 4-2, I lost. Good experience.

I'm getting pretty good results overall with these sliders, but I haven't hit a homer in 5 games and the CPU has hit only 2. I boosted up my hitting success and lowered batting pitch influence and I got more hits, but still no homers in my last game. It seems like most of my hits are opposite field. Any advice would be appreciated. I like the game after the patch, but the lack of power is starting to frustrate me.

despite being discouraged by how poorly johan santana's change up is (it's rated his best pitch yet the marlins took him deep with it 3 times) i have great results as well...i do think there is a bit of a "comeback" mode with the ai seems whenever i get a good half inning, they are able to storm right back...joe, you've made these work well. thanks

Been a little busy. Thanks for the feedback everyone. Made some minor changes to the Offense Sliders & a couple of others. These are reflected in the 1st post of the thread & in ORANGE

Re: "OS & BFJ" Present MLB 2K9 Spring Training Sliders

so far in my season, (using opening day sliders from joe) i am 6-1 with the yankees, my first series was very close i took the orioles 3-2 in the first game, lost 4-0 in the 2nd and won 5-2 in the 3rd, very realistic stats, now in the 2nd series i swept the royals out scoring them 32-1 the entire series, one game was 16-0, moving onto my series against the rays, i thought the first game was going to be tough but i beat kazmir 7-0 and punded out 22 hits,

i feel over the past 2 series i can get a hit anytime, i use the swing stick only (not a fan of the hit stick) should i stay with what i am doing or has there been some tweaks to the opening day sliders that may help me.

Also i am having the hardest time stealing, i am getting great jumps ( so i think), but have been thrown out by a mile each time, think the movie major league when willie mays hayes slides and the guy is waiting for him to reach the base..

                  Thanks for your help

CJ, I lowered the Steal Success Slider & that's reflected in my 1st post. As for you raking the AI, try b umping the AI Pitch Success Slider to 75 & see what happens

i feel these new sliders are a bit too easy now, the pitching seems very easy compared to your last set.

Does the slider for CPU pitching: "strike zone tendency" have to do with the CPU throwing more strikes and less balls? And what about "pitch zone tendency"

Id suggest these if you want to play on a slightly harder allstar not bad sliders at all tho

Why don't you have the patch? It makes the game MUCH better.

I changed the AI Pitching Sliders because the AI was not attacking the Strike Zone. The AI will still throw balls. If you are patient you can work walks, but don't under estimate them. They still yield realistic results IMO

How much better are the CPU pitching sliders with the new settings? I'm still using your old CPU pitching sliders which is 10 for AI strike zone and 25 for pitch zone. I managed to get 4 walks in 3 games in franchise mode, are these typical results for the new CPU pitching setting. The reason being is that I really don't want the pitching to become too easy.
