    MLB 2K9 Custom Sliders V1.5

    Happy Release day fellas.

I just wanted to share my very early set of sliders. I am not much of a slider nut but this game does need some slider adjustments to make it play better then default. I have been testing these since last week.

Some things I want to advice on before you play with these.

    Inside Edge (Off)

    Strike Zone (Off)

    Pitcher Fatigue (30)

    Catcher Suggestion (Off)

    1. In order to slide when stealing a base or running towards a base you must use the left stick and not the right stick. If you use the right stick it will make your runner go back to the previous base.

    2. When throwing to first base on a grounder. Press down on the left trigger while throwing to first. This may be coincidence but it has cut down on the firstbaseman moving away from the bag.

    3. Do not use catcher suggestion and throw what you want but mix up the locations. If you are up on the count, throw waste pitches and that will make the cpu be more selective and cuts down on low pitch counts.

what's the slider that affects the CPU taking pitches? They are swinging at way too many pitches and I am not that good at pitching. I hate the 2 step process and the classic mode is weird as well.

I know that they tried to make the pitching easier to pick up and play but I hate this years pitching controls the two step is just too easy and the three step is just off. I really liked last years pitching controls a whole lot better.

I just loaded these sliders into my Tigers franchise because I am looking for a more realistic baseball game. So after one inning here are the stats

        Tigers 2 Runs, 2 Hits
        Royals 0 Runs, 1 Hit

I have Galaragga pitching, they have Greinke, and I also signed Manny to a 1 year deal, and he hit the 2 run double.

No guarantee the sliders will fix that, some are having more success than others at getting the AI to take more pitches. Hopefully a patch fixes this.

I quit my game after 3 innings, it was 10-6 me. 16 Runs between the Tigers and Royals in 3 innning? Not to realistic, too many hits, but the AI varied there pitch location a lot more, plus they beaned my batters 3 times 4 if you count the one i swung at.

Just uploaded these sliders and played a couple of games. Cpu still swings at about everything. It seems completely random when they take a strike. Overall, these sliders produced some good results. The first game I was the Braves against the Cubs at Turner Field. I ended up losing 4 to 3 and each team had 12 hits.

The second game was Braves vs Mets at Citi Field. I was the Braves and Jurrans(or however you spell it) was my starter. Mets pitched Santana. It was 0 to 0 through nine innings. In the top of the tenth I scored one run. Mets responded with one in the bottom of the tenth. It sayed tied at one until the fourteenth when the Mets put together a few hits to win.

My only issue through both games was there were no homeruns. However, this was the first two games I have played so I am sure they will come as I get better. Overall, these sliders were great.

U cant judge sliders after one game and u did it after 3 innings. Have some patience or create ur own set which it seems is impossble due to how great u are

I tried the out on the pc version and through 3 games I must say these are working out very nicely. the first game I played was cubs(me) vs the mets I lost 3-0 against Johan Santana I could only get 4 hits off him as I suck at hitting right now lol. I struggled early with zambrano because he doesn't have a conventional fastball in his arsenal and I gave up all 3 runs in the first two innings and settled down nicely after that. the second game was my first franchise game with the M's and we lost 2-1. I hit a homerun early with Beltre but I couldn't put anything together after that. King Felix was awesome though and I struck out 7 but gave up 9 hits and gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 8th wich was my fault I should have pulled him but got greedy. sorry for the term paper but if figured I would give my two cents. great job with these so far guru

Re: MLB 2K9 Custom Sliders V1.5

I'm curious, when you guys hit homeruns with these sliders on, do you use the left stick for the "power" swing?

Before I upped these sliders, I didn't normally swing for power.. the homeruns would come regularly but not every game, which was good.

But I'm winning games 7-2, 5-0 and I haven't hit any homeruns and it's been just about 5 games..

I'm not looking for homerun power, but in a game where I'm trailing and I have a good power hitter at the plate to try to get my team closer to tying, it'd be good for me to keep that idea in the back of my mind lol..

Is that a good thing for you or a bad?

Also if you don't like the fact you can't foul off pitches, raise the pitch speed to 100. This was it comes in at legends difficulty. I've been able to foul much more pitches off and I could work the count.
