    Re: SFGiantsPBA's Sliders

Lost my next game to Reds 5-4, they beat me in the bottom of the 9th at Great American Ballpark.
I play one game a series, and currently below .500 ball, I hit a solo shot with McCann against reds, I have become more patient at plate, and got cpu pitching, pitch counts, closer to 100 range.

I am a patient hitter and I don't go up there swinging. I raised the power to 90 and still nothing. I thinking that these sliders really dont do anything to be honest. I am really getting frustrated as many others. They really need to fix in the patch the way this game plays. I even raised the contact from 35-45 and still getting same results and not even getting a home run in my last 10 games. This is getting alittle rediculous now. Of course I don't want every game to be close but we have to have a games that are pretty balanced and they are NOT. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. This game has so much potential. I have to adjust sliders every game to play a balanced game. WTF WTF WTF WTF...lol anyway you know I am not the only one..lol

I was drawing walks, and getting guys on base. I was chasing pitchers out fo the game, but I just couldn't get the last hit I needed in the inning to score some runs.

I was a bit worried, until I played the reds in the next game and the score was 7-7 after four innings. That game I ended up blowing 12-8. But I ran into a few more situations where I failed to deliver on what should have been big innings.

The I capped off my night with a third straight loss, this time 6-4 to the Brewers. I'm really mad at myself over this one.

I had a 4-3 lead late in the game, about the Brewers had two mena on and Prince Fielder at the plate. I throw to catcher suggestions, but will shake off pitches I don't want to throw. After getting Fielder down to an 0-2 count on two fast balls out of the zone, Molina called ofr a fast ball in the zone. My thought was, "No freaking way!" But I shook that call off about six times, and he kept going back to it. So I finally threw the damn fastball as low and away as I could, but still hit the catcher's mitt.

Suddenly I'm down 6-4, because Fielder hammered the pitch exactly as I thought he would. I really should have overruled Molina, and stuck with a slider out of the zone. Motte was pitching, and didn't have a curve, so the slider was all i had. I didn't wantto go change-up either.

Even though I lost all three games, I really had a blast, and I am closer to feeling like I am ready to use these sliders for a franchise. I may still wait for the patch to really commit to a franchise. But I will probably start up a season soon just to start accumulating some stats.

I have tweaked the pitching sliders for to account for using Classic pitching. But otherwise, these sliders are feeling pretty darn spot on. If 2K can patch-up some of the AI aggressiveness, it will go a long way. I'd like to see, but I'm not holding my breat, them also introduce more wildness in the pitching. there is nothing I would like more than to go back to Total Control pitching. But it is not, even if you activate the three-step mode, the total Control I loved from 2K8.
I'm working on some slight adjustment where more hit variety is in play and I homered with Brain Roberts so that a good thing to see also.

I'm making AI hitting better and more power.

I'm back down to AI Pitch Success at 25 but I need more games with 4th and 5th SP's to be sure.

I have both Powers at 100

User Contact and Success at 35

CPU Success at 55 and Contact at 35

OMG, I just noticed. I am playing the game on PS3 and in the game settings, there are no options for Time changes and wind in franchise mode. Is this supposed to be options for these in setting on franchise mode. Does the Xbox 360 have these options?

No, the time is supposed to be the same as it is in the real life games on the schedule. Wind is random I think.

                      Re: SFGiantsPBA's Sliders

I have tested the V.5 sliders in 3 exhibition games so far... 1st game was Ollie Perez VS the phillies, at Citizens Bank Park, I gave up 4 runs with ollie in one inning with a 2 run homer by Ibanez.. Ollie settled down the rest of the game I went about 6 innings with him. Cole Hamels pitched for the phillies, gave up 2 runs then he was pulled out of the game for no reason !? I dont know why, but Chan Ho Park relieved him and the game was 4-2 up until i tied it the 8th with a 2 run bomb by David Wright, but then in the bottom of the 8th with Putz I gave up a 2 run homer to Ibanez again to opposite field and lost 6-4. It was a great game though!

2nd Game Ollie Perez VS Dodgers @ Citi Field

I dominated this game, hit homers with David Wright and Carlos Delgado while only giving up 1 run through 7 Innings while striking out 6 with Ollie.
Once again Chad Billinglsey for the Dodgers was pulled in like the 2nd or 3rd inning after only giving up 3 runs! Why did this happen again? Can anyone explain?

I went on to win this game 8-1 with the strength of 19 hits !

3rd Game Mike Pelfrey VS Rangers (@ Rangers)

Milwood went for the rangers, i hit a solo homer against him with Delgado, it was a 1-0 game until i gave up a 2 run blast on a 3-0 count to Josh Hamilton late in the game still with Pelfrey (7th inning i think)
I wound up taking a 4-2 lead and closing it with K-Rod.

Because the game does stupid crap like this I had a pitcher only giving up 1 hit to me and was yanked in the late innings and I couldn't believe it.

why do most of these sliders have pitch speed so slow? it's a lot more realistic and challenging with pitch speed 90+.

Do you guys use the left thumbstick at all? When I use it with these sliders I am a beast as the Phillies, but when I don't, I feel like that is where I am supposed to be, but not sure if I can launch HR's or not, any feedback. Thanks

I wanted to give these a try after playing with BFJ's sliders and this is how my first game went:

                                Yankees @ Rays

                                NYY 7 11 0
                                TB 6 10 0

W- AJ Burnett (41 strikes and 20 balls)
L- James Shields (38 strikes and 17 balls)
                                S- Mariano Rivera

                                Home Runs
                                NYY- Gardner, ARod, Nady
                                TB- Joyce, Longoria

                                Game Summary

1st inning Johhny Damon doubles, Jeter hits him over to third, Tex hits him in. (1-0)

2nd inning, Matsui doubles, Nady singles in Matsui, Cano singles to Nady to second, Gardner 3-run HR (5-0)

5th inning, Pena singles, Joyce 2-run HR (5-2)

Top 6 ARod solo HR, Nady solo HR (7-2)
Bottom 6 Bartlett singles, Crawford doubles in Bartlett, Longoria doubles in Crawford (7-4)

8th inning Longoria solo HR (7-5)

9th inning Burrell doubles, Navarro singles Burrell to third, Navarro advances on bad throw, Iwamura singles Burrell home and Navarro to third, Bartlett grounds into game-ending DP. (7-6 NYY)

Overall, I liked the variety of hits. I walked three times and I like to think I am patient at the plate but the new batting camera helps out too. I'm going to roll with these sliders for awhile although I might bring the User power down to 90 or 95 depending on these next few games.

Thanks everyone for working on these, hopefully my stats helps further tweaking.
