    Low Pitch Count

Wainwright retired the Braves’ first three hitters in order three times, requiring only eight pitches to get through the first inning.
Oh wait, that was what he actually did today in Florida, my bad!

Just reminder that you can't adjust sliders every time you see an anomaly. Baseball is filled with anomalies. Folks should wait to pass judgment unril after dozens of games, not just a couple.

Of course, there are exceptions to every rule.

This is why most sliders suck, guys play 1 or 2 games and think they fond some magic settings without testing them out on more then one team.

Good sliders don't show up on the day of release!

      That's highly important...

I figure if I can't hit HRs w/ the Royals, no big deal, there not an overly powerful team...but take those same sliders, and then play as the Phillies and barely manage an XBH against a 4th starter for the Rockies and sliders may need an adjustment.

But even then, just because you don't get any XBH in one game, that shouldn't set off alarms just yet. We could dredge up box score after box score of lower tier pitchers having a big game against top team.

Most people don't have the patience to play 10 games with each slider set before adjusting.

Exactly. There is nothing that can happen in one game that would make me change a slider. The hypersensitivity to one or two games is downright ridiculous.

              Right.

And we could also dredge up boxscores on exactly how many times an 8 pitch or less inning actually occurs.

Neither finding (boxscores) would be consistent w/ how often these things occur in MLB 2K9.
