    ? for classic hitting users

I'm currently playing 2k9 w/ the classic zone batting (no cursor). I'm very comfortable with hitting and I'am currently using Joe's sliders version 3 I believe. I'm very suprised at how well the game plays w/ a couple of adjustments. I really believe this game is getting a bad rap. Its not perfect but definatley playable w/ some adjustments. Hey, what sports game doesnt need adjustments out the box to suit the players style anyway right?

My only problem with using this style of play is the lack of homeruns. I have been getting nice box scores w/ realistic hit totals, but no homers even out of my power hitters. When I'm hitting, If I see a good pitch I usually just swing were the pitch is thrown by pointing the left analog stick in that direction and hitting A to swing. I seem to make good contact on some pitches especially the ones I can pull but nothing leaves the park.

Any suggestions or advice from anyone else using the same batting controls?

    Thanks

I basically do the same thing you do, I use bigfnjoe's 1st set of sliders on his list and it is all around a good game.

I've managed about 1-3 homers a game, I usually hit high and away or high and inside pitches for my homers.

If you are having the same case and not getting the homers, then maybe you should raise your power a bit? All that I can suggest, my friend.

Awesome! Thanks alot CB. I'm going to look over Joe's first set and go from there. I will also try raising my power slider. I currently have it 35 or so.

      Thanks again

Re: ? for classic hitting users

I always use Classic hitting. I'm into May in my Franchise mode and I have a realistic amount of HRs.

Not sure if you use the LS for direction, if not, I would highly recommend it.

Also, regardless of what any posts you have read on this site have said, holding up on the stick does NOT guarantee a HR.

If you're a RH batter and your sitting on an inside FB, and you press up and left, and your hitter has a good power rating, and you time the pitch correctly you will hit a HR...and you should.

If people are hitting HRs by just pushing up, I would recommend looking at your sliders.

I hit HRs when I guess the pitch type and location and have the LS pushed into the area where I think the pitch will go. I normally have the stick somewhere in the 10-2 o'clock position. Depending on the pitch type, speed, and location, I've seen every kind of hit possible with my current settings.

        Good luck!
