    My first attempt

First off thanks to bigfnjoe for his great sliders. These are based off of those with my own tweaks to lower the amount of hits. These are meant to be just a guideline but I'm having good sim quality games with these. I might change a few things.

I just start off on legend and change these settings. I turn ball trail off but that's up to you. I also have K-Zone on. Everything else is default.

    Batting--
    User batting Success 40
    User Batting Contact 0
    User Batting Power 75
    CPU Batting Contact 0
    CPU Batting Success 55

    User Pitching--
    Gesture Recognition 80
    Hold Timing Influence 50
    Release Timing Influence 100
    Pitch Rating Influence 75
    Pitch Break Influence 50

    CPU Pitching--
    AI Pitch Success 75
    AI Strike Zone Tendency 0
    AI Pitcher Composure Influence 70

Fielder speed 55-60(i have mine at 55 right now but not sure here. 60 reduces hits somewhat but 55 seems realistic)

    AI Runner Aggression 90
User Errors-I have at 50 but up to you. I can also see not changing this.

I'm still trying to find the best balance with the gesture recogniton and release timing as well as pitch rating and pitch break but I've found that these settings really effect how the game plays as a sim vs an arcade title. I might also mess a little with batting success for both user and cpu and pitch rating influence and success to get that 3rd strike, and pitcher fatigue might be adjusted a click, but I find these pretty good. These require using inside edge and being patient at the plate and I use the right stick for fielding but that should be a given by now. That's about it.

EDIT:These have since been updated taking into account batting success. I also increased the cpu running aggression and toned a few other things upping user power slightly. I think these are pretty good now. The level of difficulty isn't easy but these work for me. It really makes a difference how you time your pitch. I also will swing and miss and foul balls off at a decent clip. User and CPU batting success and pitch success can be tweaked to get more hits. I've tried lowering cpu batting success another 10 and user batter 5 and upping cpu pitch success 5 and and bumping up user power another 5 and get good results this way as well. Still finding the perfect balance between user batting success, cpu pitching success and user power. The ones above seem to be the best balance so far.

One thing to try with these is jack up the user power a bit. With the contact sliders lower you should still see realistic hits with more power.

what is Gesture recognition do ? how does it have an effect ? and what does hold timing and release timing ?
When you say you use the right stick for feilding do you mean throwing ?

It just makes it more difficult to pinpoint your spots. Gesture recognition determines how well you do the gesture. Release timing is when you time the release and hold i'm not sure but i think it has to do with if you hold it too long how it will effect the pitch. This makes it harder to pinpoint your spots. You will miss your spots more and it also effects the quality of the pitch if you dont hit these things just right if you turn these up a lot with the speed of the meter. I like legend default because it makes it harder and upping hte gesture. I see some good stuff from a pitcher perspective this way. It's cool because if you hit your gesture just right and release it just perfectly you will see the quality of pitch is better and the cpu will take or swing and miss and you will hit the strike zone. If not you will miss or pay. I think I have this really close for me at least. What i do with these is try to just flip the stick when its as close to max as i can and release and it gives that feeling of really releasing a good pitch or a bad one if you dont do it right.

Pitch rating effectiveness and pitch break effectiveness also effects this. If you have break too high the curveballs will kill the cpu and you get too many k's. Think 50 is about right. 75 for rating effectiveness with 50 for break gives a pretty realistic k ratio.

          Re: My first attempt

Yeah I mean use the right stick for fielding. I havent messed with the sliders for fielding too much with these. I turned the speed down a click which seems about right. I could see adjusting the errors and stuff though to make making plays easier.

The batting contact i turned way down to get more k's and just decrease teh amount of contact which works somewhat. It's still horky though because the game is just messed up here, but its better this way. I would think there is something you can do with batting and pitch success success and contact to make it better though. i just havent found that perfect mix yet. But its better at least.

I did up the AI running aggressiveness since i last posted that which makes the cpu more aggressive on the basepaths. This needs to be done because on default they just sit there and dont stretch hits when they should be.

It seems to me like this game is a good slider set away from being really solid though. I'm getting closer. It's just a pain in the ***.

            Re: My first attempt

I just updated these again btw(see the original post) taking into account some of the things I was talking about. I think these are pretty good now at least for me.
