Please help a newbie to the series with the right sliders (post patch)

    Hi guys,

I got the game yesterday and I think it's awesome although I stink at it. I'm 35 and have been an avid baseball gamer since way back in the RBI series for the NES. I must admit, I have never played a 2k baseball game before, so this was quite an adventure in frustration when I attempted to play the game with the sticks, but I think I am getting the hang of it..

What I need form you guys, who I see are the far more experienced players, is a reccomendation for a set of Sliders; either off the share site or on here, that I should start with for my ability level..which is average to say the least..

What I want is to be able to strike out the computer at a decent rate with my better strikeout pitchers (Burnett, Joba, Mariano) and to be able to hit the ball for power with my power guys (Tex, A-Roider)

I played a nine inning game and could not strike out a single CPU batter and I hardly ever got to 0-2! My hitting was also pretty bad.

Any help or suggestions for a good slider set for me to work off of or for one to use and tweak a little would be great. I don't get a chance to play for more than an hour or so a day due to work and the kids/wife...the time I have to play I want to be able to enjoy and say.."Wow, that was a good two-games I played..)

    THANKS A BUNCH!!!

i will be posting my sliders up in a sec. they work really well. i'm firstin the league with strikeouts too. and i hit a good amount of homeruns.

you really just need to play around with pitching. throw more of a variety of ball and strikes.

pitches i notice gets a lot of K's are, sliders inside to lefty batters (when youre a righty) fast balls out of the zones, curveballs in the dirt.

try a fastball out of the zone, then try a curveball in the zone.

i have gotten plenty of looks, and swings and misses.

      Jerm,

I don't think these sliders are for me. I'm looking for something that is better for the newer player. I need a slider set from someone who really has experience with this game. Also, what controls would I be better off using? Classic?

      Please help!

While I'm at it, is there an option for auto base running and auto stealing? I stink at both!

No, there is not. Suggest you hit the Practice Mode for Baserunning. There's one for Hitting, Pitching, and Fielding as well. Found under Game Modes.

Guru's post patch sliders are very good once you learn how to use the hit stick.

I tried Guru's newest set this afternoon and I could not strike out anybody with CC Sabathia...Jeremy Guthrie looked like an ace, throwing an ungodly 95 mile an hour fastball which I could not catch up with...

I know this slider set needs to be tinkered with for a newb to the series. Which sliders should be changed to help me with human contact and power as well as human pitching (giving me more of an advantage I mean)?

All of these slider sets have me totally confused. Is there one which actually helps the weaker player hit for both power and average? If I eventually find the set to easy, I can always tweak it. Anyone want to give me a suggestion as to which one to go with?

Put the difficulty on rookie and then tweak from there. That is your best bet.
