    Slider explanations?

Anyone know if sliders are explained anywhere here?

Anyone know that these sliders mean/influence?

    CPU Batting
    AI Batting Pitch Influence

    User Pitching
Gesture Recognition (turned to 0, this means the second movement of the stick is not needed, right?)
    Hold Timing Influence
    Release Timing Influence

    CPU Pitching
AI Pitch Success (how good the CPU pitches overall?)
AI Strike Zone Tendency (at 0, this means more balls, right?)
AI Pitch Zone Tendency (WTF is this?)

2k, you sure did a crack up job explaining this mess. Way to mail it in.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

    Re: Slider explanations?

I can tell you what I get out of them.

AI batting pitch influence is the way your pitch type/speed effect the CPU'S batting.

Higher Gesture Recognition means the CPU will be able to determine your pitch type by the way your motion or gesture is more easily

Hold timing is the time in between pitch and release higher = more time

Release timing influence will effect how much your pitch location is affected by your release higher = you won't hit location

Pitch success is how successful the CPU at getting you out

Strike zone tendency is how often CPU pitches in the strike zone

Pitch zone tendency determines how often the CPU pitches in certain zones(the boxes that make up strike zone) lower means more variety in pitch location

You still have to do the second motion, but turning the Gesture Recognition down makes the accuracy of the motion less important. The higher you turn that slider up, the more accurate you have to be with the right stick motions and the less control your pitches will have if you mess up, and the more likely the AI will be to hack at your pitches if you mess up the motion as well. So turn the slider down if you want your pitches to be more accurate.

Does the release timing slider effect you even if you aren't using last year's style?

Which slider would allow me to strike the computer out more? I've played 3 games in my franchise and I've struck out 8, so I think some adjustment is needed, not much though as Cleveland isn't a real big strike-out staff.

I'm curious about AI Pitch Success. My interpretation was that it influences how likely the CPU is to throw individual pitches well (nailing the intended spot, getting the full break on a breaking ball, etc. - essentially how good the CPU is with it 'gestures' and 'release'). I've been lowering it to try to see a few more balls from the CPU pitches - thinking that a few more of those corner-painting pitches would wind up outside the zone and a few really badly executed pitches would be way outside.

Have other's experienced results more in line with the differences above? If it's directly (and not indirectly) tied to my batting success, then I'd want to turn it back up.

Also, I suspect that Pitch Zone tendency relates to how closely CPU pitchers follow their IE reports. I believe that a higher value on that slider means they follow the report more closely.

If you aren't using last year's release pitching, then it shouldn't affect you, but I turned the release timing slider down all the way just to be safe.

If you need more strikeouts, turn the AI batting contact slider down, and possibly your pitching gesture recognition as well.

I have not actually had batting success on 100. I would think if the success was on 100 and your batting contact was fairly low that you would have trouble making contact and foul a lot anyway.

Lower the hitting direction influence less control you have on hitting in the direction you wish.

If your best pitch is the fastball but you have a low pitch rating influence, your other pitches will become more equal. The rating on your best pitch(the fastball) will not matter as much.

If I would want more success stealing should I turn up the base running speed?

                  Thanks in advance.

I have base running set to 100 and have horrible success at stealing....in fact I don't even try anymore and I even have Taveras with a 99 speed rating.

I was having more succes with the pitch speed down at 65, however with the pitch speed set to 90 I have horrible stealing results.

The only time that I steal successfully is when the catcher throws a bad ball to second. I use 100 pitch speed, I never really thought about it but that would make a difference.

Which way does the throw meter influence work? The higher you place this slider the more likely your throws will be off target when you release in the red portion of the meter?

In User settings under Running what is Catcher Throw-Out Success?
Is that my success rate of throwing them out? or is that the CPU
                          throw out success rate?

it's your throw out success rate....but I honestly think it effects the AI catcher's success rate as well. Just like pitch speed is only shown in the "user" settings, but it obviously effects both, user and AI pitch speed.

What about pitch fatigue? Does a higher number mean they fatigue faster, or they last longer?
