My frustration was because:
1. Could not hit HRs with classic batting after patch. Offense was anemic!
2. CPU team would pound me with 15-20 hits a game and still swing too often on the first pitch.
3. CPU pitcher would be pulled early (3rd/4th inning) if I was ahead by a few runs.
4. CPU/Human pitch counts not realistic (due to few balls being thrown and few foul balls)
I'd like to thank another poster in a thread about hitting HR without the left stick. That told me it was possible to increase the power if I could find the right sliders.
I've played two games with the new sliders and it kept me from going back to 2K8
Game One: LAA (me) 5 at SD 11
Starters were Joe Saunders (LAA) and Cha Seung Baek (SD)
Padres left in Baek until the 6th inning. He threw about 80 pitches (didn't write down the box score)
Padres bust it open with a 5 run 8th against my middle relief. Game was scoreless after 3 innings, and 3-2 after 5.
Game Two: PIT 3 at STL 2 (me) -had to save game in 8th inning
Paul Maholm had a 3-0 lead going into the 8th and he was still in the ball game with almost 90 pitches. He was taken out after I tagged him for a Ludwick HR and a Duncan RBI double. Duncan is has 4 doubles in 4 at bats. Pujols a surprising 0-3 with 2 K's!
Wainwright gave up all 3 runs in the first including a HR, but settled down and got out of a few jams with some clutch doubleplays and strikeouts swinging and looking.
I dont' usually write down my games so I'm putting down what I can remember. I am stoked about the things I am seeing though (plenty of foul balls, doubles into the corners. I had a near homerun in the Angels game down the left field line where it hit the Metal Supply Building just left of the painted foul line.
I am seeing the CPU throw all over the place including up in the strike zone (not just on the corners as I was seeing before), even some wild pitches. I also am seeing more foul balls to all fields.
I'll post the sliders as soon as I get a chance, but they are uploaded on 2kshare under Holy Grail Sliders 3.0
