    decoding the sliders

based on my personal opinion., to make the hitter sliders and pitching even for both the AI and the user, one would have to combine sliders to get a result.
based on various slider setting and several months of playing the equations for balanced and equal hitting would go something like this.

user pitching gesture recognition vs AI Batter Success

cpu pitching success vs the combined average of user batters eye and batter success.

this equation is based off of the user and AI slider settings being equal/ the same for all the sliders. what ever slider set you use is your choice.

I came up with this because if the batters eye was increased the USER's hr number would sky rocket. and the strike out number would decrease.

based on this method one could really adjust the game to ones liking. and still get various results. want lots of hrs with realistic # of hits use this equation, while increasing the power sliders

pickoff success, catcher success and steal success should have the same value. I have mine set to 50. this results in more balance. players play more to their tendencies this way.

AI and USER composure should be lowered. this affects the entire team not just the pitcher. I have mine at 0 and still see rallies, but player skill becomes more of a factor, no artificial boost. dont worry teams still rally, etc.

Pitcher Handedness Influence - great slider works as intended. if the AI has a righty on the mound, then the users lineup should be a majority of lefty hitters. this works both ways. so its great for knowing what type of relief pitcher to bring into the game, lineups etc, what type of pinch hitter to use etc.the lower this number the less influence it has on batting. just in case you didnt know.

dont know if someone else mentioned this before,or something like this.
    I have the PC version

    here are the sliders:

    Pitcher Fatigue 60-70
    inside edge off
    fielding:locked
    swing stick

    User Batting
    Batting Success 60
    Batting Contact 30
    Batting Power 80
    Pitcher Handedness Influence 100
    IE Batting Zone Influence 100
    Batting Pitch Influence 75

Batter's Eye Influence 50 -the higher this number the higher the Ai pitcher success should be. these 2 sliders are linked. a higher number equals higher AI pitch count (easier to see pitches-thats the intention of this slider)but results in higher amount of hr's by the user. thast why if this numebr is higher the number the lower the power slider should be also

    Hit Direction Influence -user preference
    Zone Hitting Influence -user preference
    Bunt Contact 75
    Bunt Success 50

    CPU Batting
    Batting Success 50*
    Batting Contact 30
    Batting Power 80
    Pitcher Handedness Influence 100
    IE Batting Zone Influence 100
    Batting Pitch Influence 75
    Bunt Contact 75
    Bunt Success 50

    User Pitching
    Pitch Meter Speed -user preference
    Pitch Speed -user preference
Gesture Recognition 45- the higher this number the more hits the AI will get. AI hit success and gesture affect each other
    Hold Timing Influence 75
    Release Timing Influence 60
    Pitch Rating Influence 60
    Pitch Break Influence 60
    Pitcher Composure Influence 0

    CPU Pitching
    Pitch Success 55
    Pitch Selection Tendency 80
    Strike Zone Tendency 10
    Pitch Zone Tendency 25
    Pitcher Composure Influence 0

    User Fielding
    Fielding Errors 0
    Throw Meter Influence 65
    Fielder Speed 60

    CPU Fielding
    Fielding Errors 0
Fielder Speed 50-55- Ai fielders react to the ball quicker so the speed is lowered. could have raised the user fielder speed but did n think the fielding looked natural.

    User Running
    Base Runner Speed 65
    Pickoff Success 50
    Catcher Throw Out Success 50

    CPU Running
Hit and Run Tendency user preference
    Sacrifice Bunt Tendency user prefrence
    Squeeze Tendency user prefrence
    Base Running Aggression 50
    Steal Aggression user preference
    Steal Success 50

This is very interesting but makes a lot more sense. Can you go into specifics a bit? Give examples? Post the sliders you use?

PC version, huh? i'm betting that it plays differently than the consoles - not certain, but i do know that it has with other games (mvp baseball 05 played a LOT different as guys at EAmods noted the difference in how the sliders played out for each). i'll plug some of these in and give them a roll. thanks for sharing!!

wondering if you have batters eye and zone hitting turned on or off

also do you have release timing on or off?

                  Re: decoding the sliders

Playing with the OP's sliders and so far have been loving them, have won games 4-2 and lost 11-8 since implementing them in my franchise. Was winning 6-2 in the fifth then my starter blew up. I dont get the vibrating ball in the catchers mitt but I still find it hard to hit spots if there is a guy on base and I have to deal from the stretch, I have release timing on, that seemed to help a ton as before I was hitting all my spots perfectly even with junk ballers, I still get the lame outfielder camped out under a fly ball but it lands behind him and rolls to the wall animation, but is that just the game being broke in the fielding dept?
