    Direction hitting

does anyone find that using the left stick is kinda of lets call it "cheating"

ex. if you use it and you point it up and to the left your 70% of the time going to hit it off the left field wall

am i the only one who doesnt like to use it

    Re: Direction hitting

i use it, but i have it turned down to 25...

why i like it at 25 is because if you, say, have an outside pitch that you were trying to pull it causes you to sometimes pop them up, which is VERY realistic. i do believe that players have the ability to pull pitches or shoot them to opposite field, so i hate to take that part of the game away. but at 25 it limits its effectiveness so you're not making the ball do everything you want it to. but anything higher than 25, and i felt it was having TOO MUCH of an impact - not real, and honestly, not any fun. i like to get punished for my mistakes (and its another reason why i have user contact turned all the way down to 10).

    ...just my .02.

      Re: Direction hitting

That hitting option was dreamed up by Ben "Dumbdown" Brinkman, who doesn't work for 2K anymore (they say he left for personal reasons but I really think he quit because 2K refused to allow him to implement User auto-hitting in order to reduce game length down to 4 minutes tops.). Anyway, when VC revamped the series they figured real baseball gamers prefer an actual challenge, so they added a zone hitting option this year. Use that.

EDIT: Or do what mkharsh said and lower contact way, way down.
