TIPs/Etc:
(1) Notice that the CPU gets a lot of singles against you? Wonder why? I've found that the CPU will automatically re-position my infield when certain batter-types come up to the plate. This isn't dictated by situation, just by speed, power, or contact. For instance, Alcides Escobar is at the plater and w/o notification the CPU has placed my middle-infield "middle-in". The sequence of events that plays out next is that Escobar sneaks a grounder by my 2B or SS on an otherwise routine grounder had they been positioned correctly.
To counter this I always set my infield to play "back" w/ no runners on, and then will check the alignment and decide what to do when runners do get on. This DRASTICALLY cuts down on an abundance of singles.
(2) User Pitcher Settings - Some may not like composure at 100, deeming it unrealistic. Well...I challenge you to point to me what is naturally realistic about this game, but I digress. The reason I have set my pitching sliders as you see above is because increasing them to an "All-Star" or "Legend" -type setting only results in someone like Roy Halladay getting lit up too often to be considered realistic. With Composure at 100 you will be challenged to throw strikes should you get into "hairy" situations, but the settings are set so you can still pitch a good game w/ a good pitcher and not see a well placed pitch easily punched into the upper deck.
Pitch break at 75 also provides an interesting/challenging game in the later innings. Because as the stamina decreases and the meter becomes harder to nail you're still getting good break on your pitches BUT they're much harder to control. You'll be challenged to throw strikes and ease up on the meter which can result in more hittable pitches if you're not placing them good.
(3) USER Base Running SPD - I'm able to get SBs with your typical bunners this way (Reyes, Crawford, etc.), and can score from first on XBHs w/ someone like Chase Utley. I've also noticed CPU fielding errors w/ the speed set to 60. It seems that at times the CPU has tried to rush a throw which resulted in a dropped ball on a routine fly ball or overrunning a frozen rope that has dropped in the OF.
Lastly - These are the sliders I use and enjoy playing with. They're geared to my liking, and to my skill level. I'm not changing anything about them until a new patch arrives, IF chaning anything is deemed necessary. If you're not getting the experience you desire then continue to tweak to your liking.
Otherwise, enjoy and report back to this thread your results.
