    canes21 MLB 2k11 Sliders

Hello everyone! Some of you may remember me from last year's game or other games around here last year. I didn't get into the slider making business in games until last year, but I am glad I finally jumped in. My MLB sliders weren't the most popular, but they did get some decent feedback. They weren't for everyone and I can understand if you don't enjoy using them. They may be too easy or too hard and that is perfectly fine. We all play different and look at the game different, so there is not one universal set that can satisfy every customer out there.

My aim is to get a set of sliders that make winning a challenge every game, but does not make it impossible. If you are clearly the better team, then you should win, but there is always that chance of losing and vice-versa. I am more of a conservative sports fan, so I tend to enjoy close, low scoring games over the "flashy" games in all sports. To me a 1-0 win is a lot more exciting than a 10-7 win. That doesn't mean my sliders are just going to give you 2 run games every time. You are still going to see some high scoring games if conditions are right, or just randomly.

Like all my other sliders in every game I make them in, I started off by making this set before even playing a game. I don't know why I do that, but somehow I usually get a great playing game right off the bat in my opinion. There is usually a flaw that wills tick out, but the games go by smoothly. I don't really understand why I make my sliders that way, but I just do. After a few games I do tweak some things, and sometimes during the game.

So, here is V1.2. These sliders have changed just a tad bit through my first couple of games, but I don't think I am too far off from a good solid set that will need few tweaks.

    Hum--CPU

    Batting

    Contact: 35--40
    Power: 75--75
    Bunt Contact: 40--45
    Bunt Success: 40--45
    Batter Eye Frequency: 35

    Pitching

    User
    Meter Speed: 80
    Pitch Speed: 100
    Break Influence: 55
    Composure Influence: 60
    Control: 40

    CPU
    Speed: 100
    Success: 75
    Strike Zone Tendency: 25
    Break Influence: 55
    Composure Influence: 60

    Fielding

    Accuracy: 50
    Gather Error: 60--55
    Throwing Error: 55--55
    OF Throwing Speed: 60--55
    IF Throwing Speed: 55--55
    OF Run Speed: 25--25
    IF Run Speed: 25--25

    Base Running

    User
    Runner Speed: 40
    Pickoff Success: 40
    Catcher Arm Strength: 55
    Catcher Arm Accuracy: 45

    CPU
    Runner Speed: 40
    Hit 'n' Run: 55
    Sac. Bunt: 55
    Squeeze: 60
    BR Aggression: 65
    Steal Aggression: 55
    Catcher Strength: 55
    Catcher Accuracy: 40

If you have any suggestions please comment on these. This is more than likely not the final set and will change in the future after more games are played with them. So far I am enjoying this set, but I still have some minor things I am adjusting. I would like the AI to throw a bit more balls, but this is also due to me swinging a wildly at times, so my AI PC can be off a little. I also want to lower the amount of hits just a tad bit, but I have played two pretty decent offensive teams and have set myself up for some bad situations, so it is partly my fault.

I will be uploading box scores from my franchise file with these sliders, so you can check those out to view game stats. To visit my page just follow the link below...

*Edit 3/13/11: Lowered base runner speed for both HUM and CPU because I was seeing too many extra base hits and steals were too easy for both sides. I also upped gather errors for both and upped throw errors for CPU so they would appear more often. I also made HUM Power weaker because I was seeing a little too many hits and HRs. I raised CPU contact and lowered CPU Power to see more fouls, hits, etc. I also raised CPU Pitch Success, but lowered strike zone tendency in order to see more realistic Strike to Ball ratios.

I have updated the sliders. I upped CPU gather error from 45 to 50 because I wasn't seeing any. I don't expect really that much, but I felt like at 45 it was too rare. I have seen one error from the CPU now in the two or three games since the switch.

I also lowered CPU and User control and lower the CPU Strike Zone Tendency to see more walks by both teams. Before I was seeing maybe one a game, now I am seeing a couple here and there and like it a lot better. I also raised Human Power and lowered CPU Power, both to 85. I also lowered CPU Contat to 35. I was seeing just way too many hits and the power seemed to have too many balls hit near the wall. I didn't have much power hitting myself, thats why I raised it. I now have 2HRs as a team, both by Chipper Jones and am content with that. If Chipper remains the only player to hit them and I finish Spring training, or just the next few weeks or so, with the least HRs in the league I will raise power more. But I feel with it at 85 I should start seeing more HRs as I get used to the game and learn what my players can hit and can't. I have already noticed some improvement in my game as I am learning the Braves new roster and how they hit.

If you have any suggestions please comment.

How do you upload your box scores to 2k sports? Is there a way to do that automatically or are you manually inputting the information? I setup an account there but didn't see where to input the data and am not at home to try to upload directly from my XBOX.

Once you complete a game in your franchise you click on the game in the schedule and it will give you the option. That is the only way I know of.

Wow, that's really cool. Thanks for the heads up, I will start doing that!

Thanks for these. I have been using them for 4 games, i like them so far. I am having difficulty hitting but it is more realistic this way. Averaging 7-8 hits a game. Having good baseball scores so far 4-2 5-4 1-0 2-9.

I'm glad you're liking them. Hitting can be tough at times. Against some good pitchers I have been shut down and been frustrated. But its enjoyable and realistic. My biggest problem is chasing the low outside pitches. I always chase them even when I tell myself not to.

I bumped user contact up from 35 to 45 and am having a better time. 35 was just a little to hard for me to get base hits.
