Question about the power slider

Does anyone know, does the power slider affect all hits or only make for more home runs? I ask because I've hit a ton of little dribblers up the middle only to have them picked up by the SS or 2nd basemen. Will adding power put a little more pop in all hits?

It seems to put more pop into all hits. Raising the power slider leads to more base hits in general as harder hit balls find gaps easier than soft hit balls.
