    Anyone using default sliders?

Just curious if anyone is just playing the game "as is" with the out-of-the-box settings, whether that be on PRO, All-Star, etc.?

If so, how are your results in terms of wins/losses, batting averages, strikeouts, walks and % of strikes thrown?

    Re: Anyone using default sliders?

I've played 2 games on default All-Star and have had interesting results. Both games were played within MLB Today.

Game 1: Arizona (CPU) @ Colorado.

Rockies win 2-0. Ubaldo was dealing (unlike real life, ugh), striking out 10 and scattering 8 hits over 8 innings. Huston Street pitched the 9th for the save.

I had 10 hits with the Rockies, no homers but a pair of doubles and a triple. Arizona had a couple of doubles and Chris Young nearly hit a HR, but the ball died at the warning track.

I drew 4 walks and struck out 8 times in the game.

Game 2: Chicago White Sox (CPU) @ Cleveland.

White Sox destroyed me, 12-1. Seeing as how Chicago was up 14-0 in the teams' real game, not a huge surprise.

Immediately I could notice a difference pitching with the Indians staff vs. Jimenez of the Rockies. I couldn't get away with anything, and even some of my good pitches were hit hard.

The White Sox had a HR from Carlos Quentin and finished with 23 hits. They had a lot of bloop singles, but also hit several hard doubles to the gaps.

I couldn't get my timing down against Mark Buerhle. He was mixing his speeds well and I only managed 7 hits against him, as he nearly went the distance.

So, after those 2 games (I'm still going to play at least 8 more games before I change anything), I'm looking at changing the following sliders:

    HUM Power
    CPU Contact
CPU Pitch Speed (I'm way out in front on everything, it seems)
    HUM/CPU OF/IF Speed

I've been playing default allstar on MLB today and the Perfect Game Contest. Only a few games so far, but it seems like it's just a hit fest. Then again, when I tried bigfnjoes sliders, I had a hit fest too. I've only had one game where a team had single digit hits. That was me, on my first game playing on default allstar coming from bigfnjoes sliders. The difference in pitch speed threw me off at first so I struck out a lot.

I don't think this game is really any good. It doesn't seem to be balanced or tuned properly. Thank god I only payed 30 for it, so I can break even on a trade in. It's going back soon.

i use custom sliders, but adjust the sliders to where its between pro and all star.. i like to call it, pro star!! lol.. reason i do this, pro is way to easy, and all star seems a bit much at times.

for example, i went through and jotted down all the slider numbers for the cpu and human side of things. i then take the human hitting, on pro its all on 50, but on all star its all 40. i then set it at 45. that goes for basically every slider, the cpu hitting is at 60 on all star and 50 on pro, i then bump it down to 55 etc.

some sliders are the same, stay at 50 regardless of being on pro or all star.

ill roll with these for a while, then make adjustments to contact and power as needed to both hum and cpu.

i like to keep as much around default all star as possible, but thats what lobby we use for our online league.

Good idea. I did something similar with NCAA 11 and wound up with an amazing set of sliders that I'm still using.

The CPU definitely gets a ton of hits on default All-Star in this game, so Contact is going to have to be addressed.

I play at custom. I started from the all star setting and just adjusted from there.

I adjusted the following for both the cpu and myself.

Contact and power, pitch speed, and baserunning speed. There may be another slider or two, but those where the main ones that stood out to me the most.

I have it where I feel very good about the game.

Default sliders I did not like at all.
