So my opinion is that the sliders play out VERY nicely, but it seems like Cpu home run numbers are a bit skewed

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I've played a couple games lately. Here's the results. Still seeing good games. Extra base hits could go up ever so slightly. CPU and user HRs are a little low as are doubles. I'm going to bump up power to 65. Errors are also slightly high so I'm going to take user/cpu gather and throw errors down a tick. Everything else looks good. CPU run totals look low but hits are right where they should be. Walks are low for both sides, going to work on being more patient at the plate and going for the strikeout while I'm pitching would should allow for more walks.
Over 7 games since I made the pitch break influence change:
User 4 runs, 8.3 Hits, 1.6 doubles, 0 triples, .7 HR, .7 BB, 5.6 K, .9 E
CPU 2.3 runs, 8 hits, 1.4 doubles, .4 triples, .7 HR, 1.3 BB, 6.6 K, 1.1 ELast edited by Blazzen; 04-22-2012, 07:54 AM.GamerTag: Blazzen85

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
It varies from game to game...I've only really played with Detroit, but I've had games with Verlander where I've punched out 4 in a CG gem, and games where I punched out 15 in the same gem. Porcello has had double-digits once and Scherzer hasn't. Depends on the team you play and the day you see them, which is really cool imo.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

But I actually throw a lot of strikes, so I have pitcher control slider at 15 in order to get some balls thrown
My strikes / pitches ratio is around. 650 but just because of the slider
Sliders I use are same as Mkharsh's post, including CPU batting

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Latest sliders posted on page 1 - post 1. From here on out, unless a patch arrives, I'm no longer making changes. It's hard to enjoy this game because all I do is work on rosters and test games for sliders. So you guy here are big boys... If something isn't to your liking, just tweak with common sense. Also, I've noted that Blazzen is making a lot of suggestions...the problem: I read a couple pages ago that he is using swing stick (page 53 - post #225). These sliders aren't meant for swing stick but rather classic hitting, so I'm not sure if his suggestions are really that helpful (no offense intended - but you're testing these in ways I'm not playing the game). So this will be the final set I post... Thanks!

NOTE: Begin inputting your sliders from ALL-STAR difficulty. Not sure what difference it makes, but last year we noted this did have some influence on the game. Used last year's set as a base, but with MANY important changes.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
There doesn't seem to be much difference between swing stick and classic based on the sliders were coming up with. If anything I would think classic might have to use higher power figures since you can't power swing but at the end of the day they are both timing based. Everything other aspect we test is the same.
These sliders are about as good as they're going to get I think. I'm making little tweaks here and there as I get better at the game to keep it a challenge but other than that I'm enjoying my franchise.
Great job with the sliders and rosters again MK. 2k should be cutting you a check each year for the work you do that they should be doing themselves.GamerTag: Blazzen85

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Oh, I'm not sure if people knew about this but:
ESPN is the place for MLB stats! Find a list of the Batting team stat leaders for the 2025 MLB Postseason.
Has sortable batting stats. You can select different years to get averages and below all of the team totals you can see avg for NL, AL and all of MLB. Great for figuring out average stats per game.
2011 AL- 4.46 runs, 8.82 hits, 1.77 2b, .18 3b, 1 HR, 6.87 K, 3.08 BB, .63 E
2011 NL- 4.12 runs, 8.59 hits, 1.7 2b, .19 3b, .88 HR, 7.29 K, 3.1 BB, .62 E
2010 AL- 4.45 runs, 8.88 hits, 1.77 2b, .16 3b, .97 HR, 6.71 K, 3.25 BB, .62 E
2010 NL- 4.33 runs, 8.65 hits, 1.72 2b, .19 3b, .93 HR, 7.36 K, 3.25 BB, .62 E
2009 AL- 4.82 runs, 9.17 hits, 1.82 2b, .17 3b, 1.13 HR, 6.75 K, 3.4 BB, .59 E
2009 NL- 4.43 runs, 8.77 hits, 1.78 2b, .22 3b, .96 HR, 7.1 K, 3.45 BB, .59 E
3 Year Averages:
AL- 4.58 runs, 8.96 hits, 1.79 2b, .16 3b, 1.03 HR, 6.78 K, 3.24 BB, .61 E
NL- 4.29 runs, 8.67 hits, 1.73 2b, .2 3b, .92 HR, 7.25 K, 3.27 BB, .61 E
Here's 2011 numbers for the TOP and BOTTOM teams in the AL and NL in each category. Top and bottom was based on numeric value so sometimes being the TOP in errors doesn't mean best defensively obviously.
AL TOP: 5.4 R, 9.9 H, 2.2 2b, .25 3b, 1.4 HR, 7.9 K, 3.9 BB, .77 E
AL BOT: 3.4 R, 7.8 H, 1.6 2b, .08 3b, .64 HR, 5.7 K, 2.7 BB, .45 E
NL TOP: 4.7 R, 9.3 H, 1.9 2b, .26 3b, 1.1 HR, 8.2 K, 3.5 BB, .83 E
NL BOT: 3.5 R, 7.9 H, 1.5 2b, .10 3b, .56 HR, 6.0 K, 2.5 BB, .46 ELast edited by Blazzen; 04-27-2012, 01:50 PM.GamerTag: Blazzen85

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Thanks, Blazzen!! I'm with you...we're about as good as we're gonna get for now...
I am using the updates noted above (and on page 1) BUT... I am PERSONALLY updating MY sliders with only TWO changes:
- User Pitcher Control lowered to 5 (from 15)... If I don't do do this I NEVER walk a batter. LOVE this setting!!!
- raised CPU AI Pitch Break Influence to 75 (from 65). I still get solid contact on pitches, but this enables the cpu to actually strike me out.
But everything else on page 1 is current...Last edited by mkharsh33; 04-23-2012, 07:22 PM.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Again, what we really need are MORE numerical values for the slider numbers. NBA 2K gives this, and I wish the MLB 2K series did as well. I'm not a big fan of sliders with odd looking numbers (ie. 47 or 71) but it would really help this game a LOT if we had those additional numbers.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Yeah, I don't think many realize that it's NOT ONLY about player attributes or the slider #'s themselves, but this game is HIGHLY animation-driven. I've seen some balls drop that with the older setting would have been caught due to those outfielder "warp" animations at the last second. If anyone feels like they're getting too many hits just 1) keep raising the CPU pitch break influence, which puts more movement on cpu pitches, or raise the cpu pitch success. My only concern now is possibly getting too many user hits, and if that continues, I'll just raise the cpu pitch success to 80. But when I did that before it gave the cpu a bit too strong of an advantage.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
So raising cpu pitch success is the better way to go as opposed to lowering user contact? Because my first game using the newest set, I destroyed the Mets 10-2 using the Braves. And they had Santana going. McCann went 5-5 with 5 doubles, I had 15 hits, 3 bb's, and only 4 k's. 6 extra base hits, and it got to the point where I was swinging at pitches out of the zone, and hitting them deep to the OF.
PLEASE!!!!!! - give them at least TEN games before you make up your mind... I'm watching the Yankees right now, and CC is getting destroyed... It happens...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
And yes, I truly believe that raising the cpu pitch movement is the way to go. all I heard last week was continuing complaints about the users hitting weak dribblers with the user contact at 30... I'm not sure what you guys want me to do... I'm going to head out to the beach and look for that bottle to rub...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I left pitch control at 15 because I try to nibble corners and i walk a decent amount of batters but I did raise CPU break to 75 and had a beauty game. Won 7-5. Game had everything. A grand slam by Brett Lawrie, an RBI groundout, a blown lead by a starter, and even a game winning pinch hit RBI single. SolidComment
