This setting is totally stupid: the better you pitch, the better you will pitch as the game progresses. On the other hand, if you give up a couple of hits, your pitcher ratings will go down and the whole game will be uphill from there.

Lots of times I have seen a pitcher giving up a HR and then strike out the next two batters.

Also, this is very badly implemented in game, because you can pitch 4 perfect innings due to your improving ratings and you can give up 10 or more runs in one inning. OFF it is.
That's a good point, Maybe thats part of the reason I feel its so easy to throw 80% strikes my ratings do go up alot since i K alot.

I played out Johan vs Strasberg and heres the stats:

    Nats 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 Runs 2 Hits 10 Errors 0
    Mets 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Runs 0 Hits 4 Errors 0

    Nats Batting
    9 Singles
    0 Doubles
    1 Triple

    Zimmerman caught stealing

    Mets Batting
    3 Singles
    1 Double

    S. Strasburg 9ip 4hits 3Ks 2BB

    J. Santana 8ip 9hits 2er 8Ks 0BB
    B. Parnell 1ip 1hit 0so 0bb

The two runs came on the LaRoche triple. I should have had bases loaded at one point but baserunners blunder oh well happens irl sometimes!
    I threw 83% Strikes
Most of their hits were singles to center field for some reason (like 6-7 of them)

Technically it does not change anything: if I throw a slider with pinpoint aiming the break will be the same as a slider with break point aiming.
So for gameplay purposes it doesn't matter which option you are using.

      But look at the picture:

In the image above you have breakpoint aiming and you see exactly where the pitch will go, while in the second image, with pinpoint aiming, you dont know where the pitch will break, you dont really know if it will be in the zone or if it will be outside.
That's why if people find pitching too easy because every pitch is a strike, pitching with pinpoint aim will be more challenging: you dont know how much your pitch will break, where it will go exactly, thus you will probably throw more balls.

      I agree 100%.
That's why, despite the fact that I draw too many walks, I am hesitant in making any significant changes.

No, Pinpoint shows the location BEFORE the break.
In fact, if you select a fastball you have the pitch location right in the middle of the plate. If you select a 12-6 curve, same thing, the icon is right in the middle of the plate.
That's why I suggested you use pinpoint.

Anyway, I am having a great game with these sliders, I had to save it because I have to leave, but it's a 3-3 tie after 9 innings:

The minor tweaks I applied to pitcher fatigue seem to work, I walked only 2 times. Beautiful.

Tomorrow I will follow Brian's advice and I will try to time some throws from infielders and outfielders to see if we need to slightly change some settings.

You are mistaken. It does show the location after the break.

Not a fan of these sliders at all. Having the baserunning speed that high turns anyone with 65 speed into Ichiro. I stole 9 bases in a game with the Dodgers. Including stealing 3B with guys with speed in the 60's 3 times. The only guy that got caught had 52 speed. And it was really close. That same guy got on base with an infield hit to 1B where he beat the pitcher to the bag. And he has 52 speed. When Matt Kemp hit a ball to 1B, the pitcher never got to the dirt. It wasn't close.

Beetle I like your insight on the sliders - Between you and Joe - you guys might save 2k12 for us once and for all.

BTW-Just cracked my first homer for the Angels 2012 young season with Torii in Spring Training game 2-in Halo's Chise...WOW-perfect smash and contact-FYI I did not have contact like that in last years game this early, it took me awhile to grab on. I'm excited to play more and see how it all turns out!...i'm not giving up on 2k-they have given my many memorable 2k moments in my life...and so bads ones too peace-good to have you here on OS MLB2k12 boards...

I applied 2 or 3 minor changes, mainly to polish and refine an already solid gameplay.

In my last game I shut out the Tigers with Bartolo Colon:

Re: Beetlebum's "Statistical All Star Sliders Set"

I also have some problems with the run speed.
don't mind the steals so much cause of catcher arm strength but on simple grounders to the 1st basemen, my 80-88 runners already reach the bag b4 even the PITCHER can get close to it.
1st basemen weren't even diving for them.

I'm going to try run speed at about 70, maybe lower catcher arm too to compensate for it, and see how that goes for a while.
maybe up the infield run speed.
also maybe fiddle with the OF throw strength a bit in relation to lowering run speed a bit.

u also say if bat power is raised, not enough grounders, but i'm seeing too few HRs or deep long balls imo
maybe i'm not very good at hitting yet....
getting a lot of hits, but a lot singles so far for myself

but i gotta say, thanx for the great work

Certainly run spped at 80 is too much.. I'm playing with this at 60 and having great results, still not sure about catcher arm strenght if at 60 or 65.

Just a quick question? Are you using the left thumbstick when you are hitting your homers? I'm not hitting any at all.........maybe its my timing idk? Other than this I'm loving t5his set!

Run speed at 80 is to high I hit an inside the parker with Barahas. I have it at 70 now it is better but I think I am going to drop it to 65.

80 base runner speed doesn't work. I hit a gapper with Freddie Freeman at Rockies stadium. Center fielder Dexter Fowler stumbled a bit getting the ball but Freedie ended up with an inside the park homerun on something that should've MAYBE been a close play at third. I'm using 45 for base runner speed, feels good.

I had same problem with base running speed. I think 60 is the sweet spot. You'll want to drop the catcher arm strength also. I set outfielder speed to 5. I noticed that fielders just weren't running down ally balls as they should.

Lastly, hits where far and few between. Now I know you're going to say that reducing base path speed and increasing fielder speed is the reason. BUT, there were too many grounders, I think.

Other than that, this is one of the best sets that I've seen. Maybe I'll try a few more games with them
