    Realistic Sliders?

I'm new to this game. It's actually the first baseball game I've bought since the N64 days when my sole reason for keeping that piece was All Star Baseball 99' and Goldeneye. I've played a few games on All Star and am leaning toward moving up to Legend. This game really reminds me of All Star with the K-Zone and everything. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as the most realistic slider set for Legend in this forum?

    Re: Realistic Sliders?

Try a set and see how they work for you – that would be my advice. Every person’s ability level is different. Also, HOW they like to play is important. I like being able to clearly tell balls from strikes, so I’ve got certain sliders set differently than someone else who, say, prefers the CPU pitcher hitting the corners of the strike zone.

Anyway, some things to look out for:

AI Errors must be set @ 50 to avoid a passed ball glitch that’s in the game. Human errors can be lower.

Batting Power (Human) doesn’t need to be higher than 50. Contact acts like a fly ball cheat, so the higher Batting Contact (Human or AI-CPU) the more HR’s and stuff you’ll see.

True Aim hitting is maybe three times easier than Cursor. My True Aim Batting Contact (Human) is @ 30 because of that. Most people have it up in the 50-65 range from what I’ve seen. But again, all that is dependant of things like Pitch Speed and how well the CPU pitches. I have Pitch Speed @ 40, which is where lots of people seem to have them.

The CPU has three batting sliders. The AI Skill slider acts like a CPU hit cheat. The higher it is, the more auto-hits you’ll see – the same sort of hits over and over again (ground ball and line drive gappers usually) to ensure the CPU a base hit. The lower this slider is the more hit variety you’ll see – hits you’ll start to have a chance to field, etc. Most seem to have this slider around 60-65. I have mine @ 30.

To compensate for the loss of CPU hit-potential (if lowering the AI Skill slider), the AI Contact slider has to be bumped up into the 90 range. But because that adds tons of fly ball potential, AI Power should be lowered to 45 or so.

AI Throw Strikes works well around 40. AI Take Strikes-Balls is more up to you. Mine are in the 40 range for the strikes and 65 range for the balls.

AI Fielding Aggression slider should be set to 10, otherwise the RF will try to throw out your batters running to first.
