Thankfully it's an indy league game, not an actual minor league game.Comment

I didnt mean to sound snobbish, I just think it ruins what's good about baseball (integrity). I'm not sure what an indy-league game is but it sounds like it has nothing to do with the MLB (and its affiliates). Maybe it will happen after all...I just couldn't imagine the teams and players (and higher ups) going for something like this in *real* professional baseball.Comment

How it will work is that there is a local competition that is determining who will represent the T-Bones. Basically a tournament from what I understand. The Schaumberg Flyers will be able to select any one that they want.
What is very cool is that they are going to recreate the players in-game. The 2 "GMs" will be able to select their lineups etc. Which will roll-over into the third inning.
Again, this is an independent league, so it is a gimmick to sell seats and be a family game. The T-Bones DH does have some Major league experience - about 50 games. Quite frankly, I would rather take my family to see the T-Bones than the Royals as my kids don't care who wins at this point, they just enjoy spending time out at the park.Comment

The city I live in has an independent team. Evansville Otters. Frontier League I think. It is dirt cheap to see a game, half the time tix are free from promotions. It's a great way to see a game in a small town. No one cares who wins in these leagues so a sales gimmick like this isn't a problem.University of Evansville Graduate
