Is the CPU programmed to make dumb moves?

Maybe this game is programmed to make dumb moves on purpose.
Yesterday on my Mets dynasty I was playing the Cubs at home on MVP level.

The Cubs pitcher was Greg Maddux and let me tell you he had his good stuff working last night. After 8 innings I only had 3 hits and zero runs and trailed the cubs 2-0. Plus Mike Piazza had 2 of the 3 hits the other hitters had 1 hit combined.

In 9th The first guy up Travis Lee made a out, David Wright who was next got a hit. Beltran comes up but he strikes out. So thats two outs. For some reason after 8 and 2/3 innings of shutout pitching the Cubs take Maddux out and put in a reliever.

The next man up Piazza homers to tie the game at 2. Gary Sheffield comes up next and I hit a walk off home run to win the game 3-2. The reliever tried to throw some fastballs by me on the inside which was a BIG mistake.

If Maddux stays in theres no way I hit those homers,he was almost unhittable. Taking him out was stupid, so stupid Im inclined to think the CPU is programmed to make dumb decisions every once in a while.

I dont see how this is dumb at all. Maddux had to be near the end of the line and with a man on base one mistake pitch, especially since the guy at bat was 2/3, could tie the game. You have to have faith in your bullpen.

      Hindsight is 20/20.
