Any interest in a streaks/more split stats tracking database?

One thing that is definitely missing from this game is the tracking of streaks. For all you know your player could be challening the record for most consecutive games reaching base safely and you would never know about it!

In an effort to add a little more flavor to the game I am starting to put together a Microsoft Access database that would allow the tracking of streaks. Since the information would be in the database anyway it would also be able to break down individual player stats per month, Home & Away splits and Batter vs Team splits. At the moment I haven't decided whether I want to include pitching stats in the database.

If I go through the trouble of all this would anyone be interested in a copy of it?

I would! Would this be for the PC version?

Heck yeah! I would love to be able to see this kind of info!

I played through about a month of the season in my Padres dynasty to get some data in the tables. I can start trying to work through the reports and whatnot now. An example of what I have so far is attached to this post. As you can tell I seriously struggle on offense!

As for whether this works for PC or Console - you could really use it for either one. I have the Xbox version. Just curious - does the PC version allow you to save boxscores to file? And if so does it save it as a text file or can you save it as a .csv/.xls file? Can you see boxscores for more than just the games you play?

A couple more reports. Getting this thing to check for streaks is going to be tricky. I am going to have to actually write code for it in Visual Basic. To say the least I am very "green" when it comes to programming.

I'm not sure about these questions for the PC. Anyone with a PC savvy enough to answer this? By the way...your docs look good!

                  Is this project dead?

Dead per se? No. Is it not quite what I thought it was going to be? Yes. I just can't seem to get the code right to check for the kinds of things that I originally had in mind like hitting streaks and the ilk. You can still "eyeball" these things pretty easily since the data is all in easy to follow tables but I can't make MS Access do it on a report. Not to say that it isn't possible, just that "I" specifically do not know enough about coding to make it happen.

Something else that I realized after the fact is that some people might not have realized that all of the data in the tables of the database is keyed manually. It is easy for me since I have my Xbox hooked up through the computer but other people probably do not have convenient access to the boxscores to type them into the database.

A further problem (yes there is more) is that I didn't realize until after the fact that MS Access 2000 was not backwards compatible with older versions of MS Access. So in order to even use the database you would have to have MS Access 2000.

Basically I now have a database that can run some reports that are kinda fun from an immersion standpoint but in the end it falls short of where I wanted it to be.

Here are a few shots at what the database actually looks like and a report that assigns ESPN.com like Game Scores for starting pitchers.
