Will an XBOX360 USB controller work on MVP 05 PC? Thanks!

Do you think a wireless 360 controller + the wireless gaming receiver will work the same way?

Good question, I've been wondering the same thing... My Saitek controller is on the fritz.

I don't see why it wouldn't. I bought the game receiver yesterday and have used it with other games and it works fine.

I've got that and it works fine. Not as functional as I would like it to be(still haven't figured out pick-offs or pitchouts), but it gets the job done. If you don't want to buy another controller, then it isn't a bad option.

              Re: XBOX 360 USB Controller

I have the wireless XBOX360 controller, and I am having some issues. Wondering if someone can help me out......

I cannot get the X button to work. Whenever I press it to pitch the corresponding pitch, it always brings up the manager options instead. Also when I am trying to make a play on defense, sometimes I press a little too hard with the left stick and it causes the game to go to the start menu. It is very annoying. Does anyone know how to configure (in-game) the buttons to correct these problems??? Also, how do I pickoff, pichout, bean, etc????

              Thanks in advance.

                Re: XBOX 360 USB Controller

I'm not at home, so i can't find it, but on mvpmods.com I found a text file that changest the config for the X360 controller. I don't know if it's a file, or just posted in a thread, but try searching the MVP05 section for Xbox 360 and see.

If not, I will look tonight when I get home and try posting the file here.

Yes, that's what I have in mine. You might be able to delete the other ones if you want....

But for example, mine has the X360 one at the bottom, and has another section for a Logitech controller. I assume the game recognizes (thru Windows) that I have an X360 controller, and the game looks for that section.

If I can recall vaugely, if you purchased the 360 controller for the Xbox (as I did to save $10) and no the "Windows" one that came with a CD, you need to download the drivers off MS so that Windows recognizes it as a X360 controller.....

Well, define mapped correctly? I think it's mapped based on MVP 2005 for the Xbox.

I know all the base throws, pitches, etc. work fine. If you really want to know, figure out which button on the controller is what number, and you can edit it yourself......

I can do everything i need to do in the game with it, anyway.

First off, WOW! Just picked up MVP 05 today. Man, you cats at MVP mods are outrageous. Great stuff.....actually, amazing stuff.

                              Edit:

After plugging away I found a controller layout that works for me. Few wonky things but works pretty well. Thanks for all your hard work. Just played my first full game and it was awesome. Saw things in a baseball game that I hadn't seen since, well, 05.
