Something I just noticed!
(I am playing on regular unmodded Xbox)
My hitter, Adam Kennedy, popped out to the catcher. Unintentionally, right at the moment as the camera switched to Albert Pujols, the next batter, with the overlay showing the stats, I pressed the B button. Immediately the camera reverted to Adam Kennedy at the plate, with one out taken off of the scoreboard.
I tested this some more, and I found out that if you press the B button at the EXACT moment, the game will go back one play. This can occur after any type of play, and you must press the button EXACTLY as the camera switches to the player and stats overlay for the next batter. You will have to anticipate it, and time it just right.
