Total Classics 1978 has been released.

This past Friday it was released. Another amazing mod from the guys over there.

I swear every time I stop playing this game for a month or so, I check out that site and they have something new that blows my mind.

YES!!! Thanks for the heads up. I'll download it tonight.

I used to play a board game called Batter Up when I was a kid and it had the '78 teams with it. Played hundreds of games.

My Cardinals stunk that year but I get my boy Ted Simmons in the game. Might have to try and see if I can make it to the WS. I'll download it this weekend. Yea Baby!

Anyone know why they picked that particular year?

LOL, in all seriousness, to recreate the '78 AL Pennant chase.

At the rate they're going over there, they will have a dozen years before we know it.

              They already have...

              1961
              1967
              1978
              1994
Total Classics (the best 120 teams of all time in one mod)

I believe they're attempting to do 1927 but they're running into serious problems w. removing enough teams and aligning the leagues to play a season.

I believe they are also working on the 1964 season. My Cardinals taking the NY Yanks 4-3 in the World Series. The NL was really close with 5 teams with 5 games of winning the pennant. Also the Yanks beat out Chicago by 1 and Baltimore by 2 games. Pretty competitive year.

I think they are working on a 1988 mod as well. Does anybody know if they are going to make a roster file containing the minor league teams in 1978?

Anyone know how to load MVP onto the pc a second time so I can add the total classics mod? I have the 07 mod loaded so it wont let me have another fresh install. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Generally, these roster sets have instructions for setting up the mod. You don't need a second copy of the game running. You basically just run the executable from the mod directory instead of the default MVP directory.

Go into the EASPORTS directory and create a new file called MVP1978 after that, copy all of the the files out of MVP07 and paste them to MVP 1978. This will give you a second copy.
