OK, NBA 2KX once had a feature where you could select from a list of nicknames for a created player. This was nice because if your players last name was not recognized by the CPU then he could at least be referred to in some way other than "the shooting guard" (or whatever). What do you guys think of this idea? Would you use the nickname for created players whose names the CPU didnt recognize and therefore could not announce?

That would be a pain in the *** because, for all you know, that name is recognizeable and you would just be bouncin' back and forth between the actual game and the Player Editor. I know what you mean though. If you could test the database when you enter the last name, that would be cool for the consoles. Definitely something to think about for the future. -

Re: Using nicknames
I liked how in NBA 2k3 if you entered a name for a created player, it would notify you with player name in database showing that they would say his name. I created LeBron James and the announcers will refer to him as James. The player of the game guy screws it up though and calls him Jerome James. It would be nice when you entered a name if it said their name if in there.Comment

Re: Using nicknames
Not on the topic of nicknames, but the ESPN games developed by Kush all have a name bank in them. NCAA 2K3 and ESPN College Hoops have a name database as well as ESPN NHL Hockey. This is excellent because you can mix and match almost every single first and last name up and it will be announced by the play-by-play man and the PA announcer. This feature worked much better in ESPN NHL than in ESPN College Hoops.
I think this is a very innovative feature that a sports game should not be without. You listening, EA?Owner of URWL CAW WRESTLING: http://www.rantboard.net/Comment
