Did EA have "busted" sliders last year?

I don't know about anybody else, but in 2004 when I cranked up the comp steal frequency to the max of 50, the comp still didn't steal.

Did anybody else think EA just slapped that steal slider in the game knowing it had no effect?

I personally think that a lot of those sliders were nothing but "bluff" sliders. More than half of them did next to nothing. Just EA's way of making us believe there was more control to the game than there actually was.

I think all sport game sliders are done badly except for Espn Nfl's sliders. What I love about the Espn Nfl sliders is that you can make your own custom setting. I believe the fundemental problem is that when you're on all-star, your sliders can go only so far and affect only certain things. But in Espn nfl your offense is independent from you defense, your running game is independent from your passing game, your run D is independent from your pass D, and so on.

I agree most of MVP sliders were bogus.

Yes and no. I with the dam interception slider worked. I'm tired of picking off 6 passes a game with the int slider set to 0. I think college hoops did a MUCH better job with sliders than any game this year.

yes, the sliders were broken last year until they patched the game. They worked fine after that. Just a case of not finishing the game before they released it.

                            The sliders weren't necessarily broken.

Stolen Bases was because there simply wasn't any stolen bases in MVP. However, this was patched and was made even better through mods.

After the fixes, you could clearly see the affect of the SB slider.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
