    I need help...badly.

Guys, I'm trying my best to like this game. I've done everything I can to try and find a comfort zone where I can at least win some games. I started on All Star and got killed, then I went down to Pro and started using Heelfan's sliders and finally won my first game. Then I reeled off 11 losses in a row and even though I'm pitching fairly well, I just can't score.

I posted in Heelfan's slider thread that I wasn't hitting any homeruns and he suggested that I raise the human power about 5 notches. I did that, but nothing changed. Then I just raised it to 50, but I'm still not hitting any homers and this is with the Cardinals, one of the most powerhitting teams in baseball.

So, I decided to start over from scratch on Pro with all sliders at default 0. I played 3 games and lost all three scoring only 2 runs in 3 games. I raised the human power to 50 and the human contact to 20 and even though I had a game with 14 hits, I still only scored one run. I'm at my wits end with this game and I want to like it, but I can not hit a homer for the life of me. When I do manage to catch one with Pujols or Rolen, it doesn't even make it to the warning track.

I'm completely baffled because I played this thing on All Star last year and hit a bunch of homers with the Cardinals. I feel like if I could knock a few out, I might be able to score some runs and win a few games.

    Any ideas?
No, I didn't draft Grossman on my fantasy team, what do you think I am an idiot?

I have a similar dillema as you. I suck on all-star.....so I play on pro. Pitching is too easy though, yet hitting is too hard. The ONLY time I get hits is when I homer......which is pretty ofton. I win almost every game because of pitching, but i end with like 5 hits, all homers. Maybe I aim the stick too much??? I might try to play without the stick to get some varied hits.

Also.........I CANT STEAL ANYTHING. Even with Tony Womack I get caught stealing 2nd more easily than David Ortiz.

How do you hit homers so often?

I'm hitting plenty on All-Star with contact 7 & power 14. In fact, I probably need to lower the power setting.

For me personally, preloading is the key. With a power hitter, until I've got 2 strikes on me, I hold the left stick up & in before the pitcher even begins his windup, and look for a pitch on the inside half of the plate. I try not to swing unless I feel really comfortable with the pitch. I probably get 90% of my homers this way. After 2 strikes I usually don't even use the analog stick unless I'm positive which half of the plate the ball is going to end up over when it leaves the pitcher's hand.

I tend to preload as well........im so used to that damn batting mini-game. Sheffield is almost an automatic homerun for me if I get a pitch high or inside, but like I said I have trouble getting hits that arent home runs. I think I always aim my stick up naturally, so I pop everything up.
