These 4 PC or PS2. Do you watch CPU vs. CPU exhibition games or did you find a way to do it in season?

Re: Juk34man's CPU V CPU Sliders

Hey, I tried these in a game today in my dynasty and figured I would give some input. The outcome of the game was pretty realistic, meaning the hits, runs, ect. There was I believe 2 home runs which was good as well. There were two things that I didn't think were good that I noticed. One of which is the amount of walks. There were 10 walks and 11 strikeouts. The two starters were Millwood and Colon, so that's the only reason I worry about them this much. Another thing is that the CPU seemed to never swing the bat. There were times when they went on for like 20 pitches without swinging once. It had to be that close to 90% of the pitches that I watched that the batter took the pitch.

I know that it is only one game, but just figured since no one else did I would give you some input. Hopefully it will help you out some.

Re: Juk34man's CPU V CPU Sliders

These are for PS2/X-box and yes I play a dynasty with these, Im currently 39-53 with Tampa Bay..

Cubs fans thanks for the input. the amount of walks vary if you have variable stuff on which i do, I actually move the ball rate up to -20 because my bull pen wasnt walking batters that much....so far threw 90+ games my high BB for a pitcher is 60 but he also has 88 K's (casey fossum using UR 8.0)

I also made it so the batter will face more pitches thats why u see batters take alot of pitches this also helps the pitch count and also causes more foul balls.. I still see batters swing and miss

BTW Ive updated still rate is 35

Just curious, have you tried it with the swing frequency higher? Maybe like -35 to -25?

Re: Juk34man's CP V CPU Sliders

I actually used various sliders from this forum as the base. I had swing frequency at -28 and worked my way down to -50 until I was happy with the pitch count there were too many quick outs

                Hi Juk34man,

I'm more of a reader and not so much of a poster but I have to say that after reading about your cpu vs cpu sliders for MVP2005 I stopped at my local EB Games and picked up a copy for $5.00 to try the game out and found I really enjoy the game. I had MLB 06 before and could never get it to work past the All-Star break. Naturally it has been traded in since. I've watched three games so far between the Cubs and Diamondbacks, all Cub losses by the way, but the more important thing is I witnessed more throwing errors, stolen base attempts, foul balls, pitch outs even, in those three games then in all the games I played in MLB 06. Thanks for your efforts.

                        Juk34man -

                        Thanks for the efforts.

I too have been playing the games out in CPU vs CPU mode on the PS2, and I still have not found sliders which work. I simmed several games with the Contact and Power both down at -50 for CPU and User, and the total combined batting average through several games was still over .330. I am starting to wonder if it is possible to getting anything close to realism with MVP 05 on the PS2.

I'm going to tinker with your slider settings. Could you fill me in on some of the changes you made, and how they affect the game? For instance, I notice you cranked up the Foul Ball Rate. Does that bring down the batting averages by ensuring that a lot of would be smashes into the gap are harmless fouls?
