    B.J. Ryan vs. Brian Roberts

B.J. Ryan has 11 saves. Brian Roberts has 11 HRs.

Both are at career highs, so here is the question. Who will have more of their respected stat at the end of the season?

Ryan- saves. Roberts won't hit 40+ HR.

This is a no-brainer. Ryan will easily have more saves than Roberts will have homeruns.

      Next question.

        Yep, Ryan easily.

I'm still not sold that this is the type of hitter Roberts really is. I still see him as a 10-15 HR hitter who slaps the ball to all fields. However, he's still proving me wrong so I might have to re-think that.

I think Ryan is and will continue to be a dominant closer. He's got nasty stuff.

Well I could see Roberts getting 25-30 home runs. It depends on how the Orioles do as a team for the rest of the season, because I don't see them keeping up this pace.... however, they should be good enough that Ryan has the chance for at least 35 saves.

yeah that would mean Ryan only got 24 more saves the rest of the way. With 11 through 1/4 of the season Ryan will have a ton more saves than Roberts has homers unless injury happens.

I could see that this year as well. I keep expecting him to come back down to earth, but it hasn't happened. So, I'm starting to think he's got more pop in his bat than I ever expected or he's just had one long hot streak.

If he does mash 30 HR's, It'll be very interesting to see what he does next year. I can't get the thought of him as a slap hitter out of my mind!
