Good article, I read it earlier today. Also, kind of interesting, Ichiro use to hit 300 baseballs when he got out of school as a kid, then go eat dinner and finish off the night hitting another 300. His parents drove him to where he is now. If he had come in even 4-5 years earlier Pete's record would be in danger. Griffey, A-Rod, Randy, Edgar and a young Ichiro. That would have been unstoppable, and expensive. -

What I find particularly impressive is his ability to zone in and focus so intently at-bat after at-bat after at-bat. Keeping that level of concentration over 700 ABs is simply amazing, especially when you can be focusing so hard and still fail 65% of the time."Darth Vader doesn't cry, Peter."
