interesting article on Ichiro's approach to hitting

I'm starting to think OS wills things into the world consciousness. I've noticed that sometimes the stuff we post on these boards end up getting media play in some form or another

Anywho here's the article (i'll just provide link it's a bit lengthy)

Good article, I read it earlier today. Also, kind of interesting, Ichiro use to hit 300 baseballs when he got out of school as a kid, then go eat dinner and finish off the night hitting another 300. His parents drove him to where he is now. If he had come in even 4-5 years earlier Pete's record would be in danger. Griffey, A-Rod, Randy, Edgar and a young Ichiro. That would have been unstoppable, and expensive.

Interesting article. I never knew how in depth Ichiro really looked into his hitting. His approach is really unorthodox, and he's got me lost, but it seems like in his mind he has it all down to a science.

What I find particularly impressive is his ability to zone in and focus so intently at-bat after at-bat after at-bat. Keeping that level of concentration over 700 ABs is simply amazing, especially when you can be focusing so hard and still fail 65% of the time.
