It's hard doing a mock draft for baseball because the order of selection isn't always based on talent but signability. I'll take a stab at it anyways.

I think the best bargain pick in the first round is going to be Jeff Clement. He improved his D this season and he has amazing power for a catcher. Also controls the strike zone.

It's practically impossible to do a Mock Draft for baseball, because as you said, it is based more on signability then talent. Anyway, I'm going to have to look up some of these guys, because I just realized I barely know anything about this draft class.

After reading on Mark Pawelek...I hope the Padres do draft this kid 6'2 180, Lefty and throws 5 pitches. nasty slider (84-85), a dirty change up (76-77), and a 12-6 curve (67-73)...and throws 2 and 4 seam-fastball.

Wow, Cam Maybin falling all the way to #10?

I guess I can understand it.. but the guy is an unbelievable athlete. Batting nearly .700 in your senior year is pretty impressive.

Alex Gordon and Justin Upton are by FAR the best players in this draft.

I'm hoping Alex Gordon will fall to Seattle at #3 and according to a few rumors....there's a decent chance of it happening.

Does anyone know anything about Justin Upton?

He's a 5 tool talent. He would go number 1 no matter who had the first pick.

Has played mostly SS this season although he's seen action at CF and 3B. With his speed and arm strength I think he's better suited to play CF.

I'm hoping Tyler Greene can sneak in the first round. The scouts are afraid of his bat and Scott Boras, but he does have 4 grand slams this season.

You also cant forget to mention Justin Upton's going straight from high school so he's young and has a bright future ahead of him.
