Very interesting. Atleast it wasn't a grown man that came up with the idea, just a 6 year old girl.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

Re: Two Minor League teams to play "virtually"
This is the same league that my brother plays in. I am a little suprised that KC agreed to do this. There are tied for second place in the South Division, only a half game back. The season is pretty much split into two halves of a season with the winner of each from each division get into the playoffs. There are about 19 games left in the first half.Cowboys - Thunder - AthleticsComment

Re: Two Minor League teams to play "virtually"
My best friend plays independent ball for the Worcester Tornados here in Mass. The other day they had a double header, so they cut each of the games down to 7 innings each so they could get them in. So chances are, the stats won't count for the "virtual players" in the first two innings but the score will be what it is for their 7 inning matchup. Can you imagine though if someone on one of those teams wins a batting title or a home run crown because of a huge cyber inning. :y4:Comment

Originally posted by ZB9wonder what game they will use? guess it has to be MVP, since it's the only one with minor leagues.
Well this is pretty neat idea... 2 innings is not enough for a HUGE blowout, and if they have to actually compete to just get a spot to play the video game, then I don't think they're dumb enough to throw fastball after fastball right down the middle of the plate.Last edited by CoRruPt-; 06-24-2005, 01:31 PM.Comment

Yeah, uh, espn mlb 2k5 is on xbox.

Northern League Commissioner, Mike Stone, didn't like the idea so KC has made some modifications.

Originally posted by eggmanchrisExactly! Why would they decide an important game on a video game? Kinda stupid IMO. What if one guy scores 13 runs in the first inning, that would kill the whole game.
OSUG314, I read that in the KC Star today. Kind of made me mad, but oh well, what are you going to do.
I still don't understand why people thought it was a stupid idea. Hey, that's your opinion and I can live with it.Comment

Re: Two Minor League teams to play "virtually"
Do you want to just sell tickets or win a championship. If this is what KC has to do to sell tickets then they got a problem. They are a half game back of St. Paul for the first half South Divsion championship. I would think that would sell itself to see a team playing good baseball and in a race for a playoff spot.Cowboys - Thunder - AthleticsComment
