    Three Years To The Date...

is when Daryl Kile passed away. It was weird because I was looking up stats and came across his name and remember he died during the summer but couldn't remember exactly when...and to my amazement, died today 3 years ago.

I'll never forget it coming across ESPNews and my jaw just dropped. I couldn't believe it. Even though I wasn't a Cardinals fan or anything, it still brought tears to my eye. Someone that young (33) dying with little ones and a wife at home...just sad.

And seeing Joe Girardi breakdown during his speak at Wrigley also made my tear up.

Anyways, RIP to DK 3 years later.

yeah I heard that today, I remember coming home that day and thinking why isn't there a game on today... Few seconds later they showed a replay of Girardi and his speech and I too had tears in my eyes. RIP Daryl.

I remember playing All-Star baseball that summer and still seeing Daryl Kile in the game and pitching. Really kind of freaky

I will never, for as long as I live, forget that day. I remember thinking it could have been Red Schoendist, or one of the other older Cardinal greats, but then realizing they probably wouldn't have called the game for that. Then of all the Cardinals, they say it was Darryl Kile... The shock and grief that ran over me was just unexplainable, and I didn't even know the guy.

I am very glad that the Cardinal family has kept close with the Kiles. Just a few weeks ago, Flynn and the Kile children were at Busch for a series. There is a countdown on the right field wall counting down the remaining home games at the current Busch Stadium and the Kiles were there to tear down #57.

Substitute High Heat and I was in the same situation. I actually used STL in my franchise that year. One of the few years I didn't use the Bucco's.

          RIP DK.

I really liked watching him pitch and it was so sad to see him go at such a young age.

            RIP

                RIP Kile.

The sad part was a couple of assclowns from Arizona played a "prank" on Kile's wife after his death.

They called her up while on the air asking her if she had a date.

The station quickly fired those bozos.

I remember....I was in Mexico on a little vacation when I saw the headline on ESPN in the hotel room. Truly shocked me. He was a great pitcher.

I remember that the pastor of my church was at the game that Kyle was supposed to pitch in the day that they found him dead. He said that for hours they didn't know what was going on. It must have been pretty freaky to be there.

I was just thinking about him and I looked up the date of his passing...and it's tomorrow.

I can't believe it's been 9 years. I can still vividly remember that day.

                      RIP Darryl Kile.

I saw the first post of this thread and said, "You are seriously smoking something eli, it's nearly been ten years now!" Haha glad to see it wasn't I who was doing the smoking of something...

Haha, yeah I just didn't want to create a new thread but figured I'd just bump this one.

If a mod wants to change the title to "9 years", that's cool.
