Pretty good young player to keep an eye on...

I was at the Rangers game a few weeks ago and saw Kelly Johnson for the first time. He hit a shot into the 3rd deck in right field about 50 feet foul. It was an amazing hit. Since then I've been keeping up with him and have been toying with picking him up for fantasy (and will if any of my OFs start slacking).

He has a great swing, power and is a lefty. Anyone else heard of him?

    I have.

He's been one of my favorite Braves prospects for several years now. He was having a monster year in AAA before getting called. Got off to a terrible start (1-29, I believe), but has really been on fire lately.

He has a great approach at the plate. I love the fact that he'll take a walk, which isn't always the case for a lot of Braves prospects. He's going to be a good one.

Johnson's been a nice addition to the Braves lineup since being called up from AAA, his BA is low (.246, hit .310 at AAA) he has 3 HR's and 14 RBI's in 20 games for the Braves. he has a little power, he hit 8 HR's at AAA this year and had 16 at AA last year but he is more of a gap hitter. He had 35 doubles at AA last season and finished with 54 extra-base hits last season, so far 5 of his 16 big league hits have been for extra bases.

Nice to see someone outside of the Braves thread giving KJ some love.

I think he is batting around .290 this month and is one of the many reasons why the Braves are winning. Finally some production from the corner!

Yeah I love watching this guy play, and obviously since I live in Richmond I heard plenty about him while at AAA. Good to see him doing well after that slow slow start.
