Re: Kenny Rogers - out of control
Heheh. Looks like this is going to call for a few starts worth of suspension. There goes the Rangers' chance at the AL West.
Not to mention that the cameramen (there were 2, right?) could file charges against Rogers, the Rangers, and even MLB.
What a great way to end a career.Comment

Those divisional chances were shaky at best anyway. Despite the BEATDOWN they put on the Angels today (18-5, 8 HRs), I don't see the Rangers gaining much ground on the Halos.
I was surprised to see Gammons call the Angels the best team in the AL though.Comment

Re: Kenny Rogers - out of control
Only in today's society would the jamoke cameraman get called up by ESPN to do a "tell-all" interview. When did this turn into a Barbara Walters type show? Jumping jesus christ, why does anybody care about this story, and why is it surprising?
Most athletes are pampered, meatheaded dunces. Most media people are also , who are jealous of the tremendous amounts of money the athletes make. You get these type of ******** confrontations when both groups of morons meet.
To be honest, I'd like to see more athletes kick the **** out of media dingleberries, just for my own personal amusement. They'd have to face the appropriate legal ramifications, however, because you can't just go around beating on people willy-nilly.Comment

Without the media these athletes wouldn't be gettin paid like they do. They need the media just as much as the media needs them. Without either neither side is gettin paid crap. If he didn't like what was being said about him....then go to the source. The camera man had nothing to do with it. Rogers was acting like a coward. The guys he has a prob with are there every night after games, and before games. Rogers is gutless and unless he pitches well 2-3 starts when he comes back this won't go away.President of the Devils Den

Dumbest comments ever. Without the media you would have NO idea what is going on with your favorite teams. Yeah, lets see more media "dingleberries" get the **** kicked out of them, simply stupid.Michigan WolverinesChicago White SoxComment

Re: Kenny Rogers - out of control
I don't care about material that the media puts out. I used to read all the articles in the local papers, but for the past year, I've generally ignored and stayed away from the sports media outlets: newspaper articles, talk radio, and talking heads on TV. I pretty much just follow baseball on the 'net by reading box scores, rotoworld, and strictly informational type stuff.
I've watched enough baseball to comprehend how the game is played, what is significant, and what isn't. I honestly don't need to be exposed to what some media turd thinks. I began to notice that these clowns are financially profiting off the athletes through drawing attention to themselves, and making outlandish exaggerations.
I probably sound as if I think I'm holier than thou, but I'm honestly not. I just truly don't care what some fatass, buffet-storming buffoon in the media thinks about baseball. I don't see any use for these guys, and I laugh when another buffoon (Kenny Rogers) pushes around this tit cameraman.
With that said, there are some exceptions to the rule for me. I'll certainly listen to what Peter Gammons and Gordon Edes have to say, because I find their information to be insightful.Comment
