So he should be allowed to assault the media? I'm sorry, but the media is as big a part of sports now as it ever has been. Crybaby players like Rogers need to learn that tolerating the media is part of their job, which they get compensated very well for.

If anything, Rogers should've gotten a full month off.

I don't have a problem with them suspending him. I just think that 20 games is way too much. There is no reason for Selig to go out and overreact about what happened on Wednesday. Assaulting a media reporter is completely uncalled for. 10 games is the right amount to me.

no i am not saying he should be assulted but still the midea is a has been and never will be a friend of sports players. you all know that these players hate the midea cuz of felse stuff like the Rogers contract thing that Not true but these midea people have got to learn that if they mess with a player and say stuff that aint true about him or her yes they are going to get mad but and say bad things or attack them but i am not saying that people should be assulted but they should just leave the players alone if the players ask them too but to keep going on about stuff get fustrating just think about it and you will soon know why players like rogers bonds and others players hate the midea thanks

I think it's too lenient, but then again I agreed with David Stern using Artest as an example, given his history, and keepin him out for a year. IMO you need a harsh penalty to prevent this from happening again.

Isn't this just missing 4 starts too? i mean that hurts a pitcher, but it's not quite like a field player missing 20 straight games IMO

I ahd some huge post and i erased it by mistake. Lemme just sum it up with this. Rogers deserved at least a month, and he harrassed this guy who was doing what so many pro athletes claim they need to do with their monthly paycheck, put food on the table and provide for their families. Props to Selig, now just up the first time steriod offense to 81 games and I'll be happy.

I think you nailed it. That's why it's 20 games. That's 4, maybe 5 starts for a pitcher. It's really not that long of a suspension compared to 20 games for a positional player.

I have no problems with the suspension (although it should be without pay). I'm tired of athletes acting like they can do whatever they want because they're an athlete. Then again, they usually can....

20 games for a SP is basically only 4 starts.
