Exactly. I think fans get just a little bit too excited around here. It's hard enough to get 20 wins, let alone 21 or 22 or if you're lucky 23 as a starter in a five man rotation nowadays, but it's made even harder when half of those wins have to come in a highly contentious time in the MLB after the All Star Break. Factor everything in and Dontrelle will probably get 20-22 if he's as good as we all hope he is, and we should be happy just with that.

Yeah unless he decided to all of a sudden suck horribly, then he will have a fantastic year. 13-3 as a 2 year pro (am I right?) is just absolutely amazing and if he can reach 20 or 25, damn.

Tough one. He's 8-11 with a 4.30 ERA after the All Star break over his career. However, he said that he focused on conditioning this offseason and feels he's in better shape to last an entire season.

I'll say he gets 21. Better than years past after the AS break, but he still tails off a little during the second half of the season.

I'm gonna say 18 for a few reasons. One, he won't be as good in the second half as he was in the first because of fatigue. Two, he won't be able to go as deep into games as he has done most of the first hald and that Florida bullpen isn't going to save many games for him. And three, no one else has picked 18 and I want to be different.

Dontrelle is at 18 wins after today with roughly 6-7 starts left. I'd say 20 wins is a lock with 22-23 not out of the question.

Since I predicted 23 wins nearly two months ago I'll stick with that.

I think there is a good chance he could win 25 but he has to play like the first half of the year which will be damn hard to do. I'm going to say 20-22 but I don't know.

hehe I was more than likely right. Assuming he has 7 starts left then if he wins all the games he'll get 25 though extremely unlikely.

He's really only had one bad month (July) and his totals for August match or exceed those for his best month (April).

He went through one rough stretch and appears to have done a good job at coming out of it.


***Edit: After a closer look, Dontrelle only had a bad three game stretch in July, not an entire month of horrible pitching. I'd say we are/were being a little rough on him saying he's had a bad second half.

One of his losses was a 1-0 complete game loss too. He should be 19-7 had the offense showed up.
