White Sox trying to aquire Clemens?

I got it from espn.com and as much as I hate espn, i love the new rumor going around about the White Sox trying to aquire Clemens. El Duke would be a good fit in the bullpen (he wont start because of shoulder problems) and Brandon McCarthy has been hit hard his past few starts. I can see a deal like Joe Borchard (Tearing it up in AAA with 15 homers and like a .359 avg) and maybe Brandon McCarthy for Roger. Maybe throw Willie Harris in there or Timo Perez.

I would love to give you guys more info, but stupid ESPN.com has it in their ESPN Insider. Just like everything else on that website. And I will never shell out 20 or 30 bucks a month for espn. Down with ESPN

hahaha like any team would ever take Timo or Willie... Borchard is a dissapointment though, he hasn't made it in the big leagues like the Sox would have hoped. Also the only good player in that deal is McCarthy who still hasn't proven what he really has in the majors. I think the stros would want a lot more than that to make that trade.

Borchard would be called up, but due to the fact that Dye, Rowand, and Pods are playing pretty well, they have no room for him. Hence the reason why he would be traded. He still has potential, and the fact that Craig Biggio wont be palying forever, it would be a good deal.

This will probably be Rogers last year, and Houston owes it to him to at least trade him to a contender to have him have a chance to win at least 1 more ring.

I highly doubt this is true, but I'm just pointing out scenerios. Borchard and McCarthy will probably be on the block if the White Sox are truly interested in Roger.

I still think the Astros will make a run at the NL Wild Card.

I expect to see Roger Clemens traded for Joe Borchard and Brandon McCarthy as soon as the four horsemen saunter by my window.

Borchard batting .359? Where the hell do you get your stats from? He isn't even close to that.

edit = He is hitting .240 with a .310 baseball average. I think you need a new stat reference.

Plus, didn't the 'stros already say they aren't trading Roger?

I believe so. That and wasn't the point of him going to Houston so he could be with his family or whatever? I don't think either party wants him to leave.

Drayton McLane has stated this over and over since the first Roger Clemens trade rumors began to surface at the end of april.

The Astros believe they can make a run at the NL Wild Card (they are 6. back) and are looking to add a bat and a reliever ( don't be surprised if Houston can pull off a deal for Preston Wilson and Brian Fuentes) and cannot do so without Clemens.

You wouldn't be able to get a bag of balls for Borchard at this point. If this trade would happen (which it won't) we would be looking at giving up McCarthy, Gio Gonzales, Sweeney or Anderson along with Contreras and something else.

Clemens already said that he would retire if he couldn't play in Houston
