    Roy Halladay

    Out at least a month

Saw the play last night and was hoping it was just a bruise as he'd only miss a week or so. This is a huge blow for the Jays. We're going to have to scramble and hope that either a young arm like Bush can carry the load, or we can make some sort of trade to stay in the race till Doc is able to return.

Man, this is going to hurt the Jays pretty bad.

By the time he comes back, the Jays could be a good 10 games out of first.

Maybe this will be JP's time to dangle Orlando Hudson out there for another arm, if not like Eli said we could be out of first by at least 10 games.

I was waiting for a Toronto guy to post about this. This is a tough break (sorry for the pun) for the Jays. I'm not sure they were going to make it even with Doc in the rotation. But along the lines of what Vinceanity said, if they trade for an arm now, they will be even better of when Halladay comes back.

That is unfortunate. He was on his way to another Cy-Young award. I honestly didn't see the Jays sticking around until the end, but now it looks like they are done for certain, unless they get lucky with whoever they call up, stranger things have happened.

I think that just about killed our hopes for a chance at the postseason. I saw the play and I thought it was only a bad bruise or something like that. It's odd how the most innocent injuries turn out to be something more.

You know, I'm not a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, but when I saw this on Fox Sports earlier today, I muttered, "Damn!" because I'm pissed that a star like this gets such a big hunk of crappy luck. I did the same thing when Mark Prior got injured (all 7 times ).

I couldn't help but chuckle at Jays fans when I read this. No offense or anything....but one player on your team gets injured and suddenly it's all over. Does that mean one player carried your team? Heh.

Personally I think Lilly had a bad first half but has been showing signs of perking up, and is rife with the stench of success in the second half. If anybody starts "picking it up" for the Jays, it's him.
