Who do you really dislike?

Who are your top disliked players in the league for any reason?

1. Curt Schilling- too big a mouth... although he is a great pitcher and I respect what he has done.

2. David Ortiz- 2004 ALCS

3. Bronson Arroyo- the cornrows

4. Bonds- just a jerk to everyone

5. Bret Boone- I really don't know why... he just comes off as arrogant to me sometimes plus that Boonie Bat Flip just really irks me.

6. Dave Roberts- 2004 ALCS ... "the steal"



In the case of Ortiz and Roberts... I don't dislike who they are personally, just what they've done against the Yankees.

I used to hate Kevin Brown then he became such a horrible player for the Yankees that I've grown to like him. The same with Giambi-- he sucks so much cash out of the franchise I can't help but appreciate him.

Here's one: Me and all my Seattle Mariner fan buddies hate this man... Willie Bloomquist. He signed my friend's hat without my buddy asking him. Jackass. Plus, he sucks. He's the model of mediocrity of Northwest baseball.

1) (If we can use owners) George Steinbrenner. I loved Dave Winfield as a kid. He was one of my favorite players. Steinbrenner gave him a hosing, and the whole Howie Spira thing was just evil. He should've been suspended for more than two years, for the good of the Yankees. The Yankees would be at 30something World Series and counting if not for him. People are saying he's a hall of famer? He should never be considered because of the events leading to his suspension. If he gets in then Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson do too. Marries Marge Schott in dreams I have. :P Ruined any hope I had of rooting for both New York teams, I wished I would've never had to make the decision to pick one.

2) A-Rod, probably the most arrogant player in the league. Has the skills, all right, but I just want to smack him upside his head. If he never wanted to play for the Mets, he should've simply respectfully turned the offer down in 2000 when he was a free agent. Instead he makes silly demands so the Mets would just tell him to go away. He said that was his favorite team growing up? I find it hard to believe after all that.

3) Jason Giambi, How can people forgive him and let him play while they say they'll boo the crap out of Bonds when he returns? Giambi's always been kind of smug to me, but it is true he's not on Bonds' level. I'd just treat everyone involved in the steroid thing all the same. I can't root for Giambi to overcome his recovery from steroids, without rooting for the other players as well.

4) Gary Sheffield. Shut up, Sheff. You're a headcase, you give up on your teams so they'd trade you? That's pure class.

All the other Yankees.. if they were on other teams I'd say 'cool'

5) Preston Wilson and Pat Burrell(tied). Oh wonderful, Wilson is a National. He kills the Mets all the time. It's not hatred as people but since they're notorious Met killers, I just gotta dislike them. Of course if they were Mets, they'd completely suck.

6) Danny Graves. He's just... ugh. Awful. You're done. Just a complete waste of a roster space.

7) Chipper Jones. Grown men aren't called Chipper. Had a nice wife and sleeps with Hooters girls on the side? :P Names a child "Shea" because of all the success he's had against the Mets? That's arrogance. Of course if he ever dons the blue and orange of the Mets, he'd suck.

I hated Zambrano because of the whole Kazmir deal, but now it's just a respectful dislike :P he's turning the corner and seems to have a much different approach that's really helping him out.

Not only do I hate them, I want them to do poorly. Some guys don't like Bonds, but they love to watch them bat, or hit a home run. It's not like I ever wish for somebody to get hurt or anything, but if I wanted anybody to ever have a career ending injury, these guys aren't hanging near the bottom anywhere.

when the Expos left Montreal , he was the one player who critized the city of Montreal the most ...saying that if he dies without ever coming back to Montreal he will die a happy men ...and the guy only had something like 100 at bats in his career ...

If comments like he made would have been against New-York ...he would have been treated like John Rocker ...

Here in NY I read about and watch the Yankees daily and he never acts up or says anything wrong. I think he handles the media well although everything that comes out of his mouth sounds like ites been processed through his P.R. guy though, but I get the vibe that he's afraid of saying something wrong.

I can understand people disliking him for all the money he makes... ubut its not his fault that Hicks gave him that huge contract. If someone offered you a lot of money.... would you turn it down? To me, I just don't get the arrogant vibe everyone else apparently sees in him. He doesn't showboat, the worst I can say about him as that he seems a little fake, and wants to be the team leader when its Jeters team.



Also regarding Giambi, there's no excuse for cheating, but people want to see him succeed because he's considered one of the genuinely nice guys in baseball, much to the contrary of Bonds.

A) He has a very fragile ego from what i've heard. The guy is never pleased with himself. If he hits 3 HRs in a game and in his next AB he Ks he'll be all surly, depressed and generally bummed.

B) He's too much of a cold fish IMO. I know Jeter is pretty much the same way with the media for the most part but Jeter at least portrays some semblence of a real personality while A-Rod sounds like a facsimile of a human person. I remember once when he was with the Rangers he had a great game and was on the post game show and everything he said was total cliche and monotone with no emotion at all.
