Nevin is likely not going anywhere, he is a free agent after next season and since he will be a 10-5 player next year will probably block any and all trades, so the Padres will have to live with him for another year and a half.Comment

So... what does Texas get out of this? They already have Dellucci able to DH. I doubt they'll use Nevin as their full time catcher either.Comment

Re: nevin trade a no go
This is just one sad overpaid player traded for another sad overpaid player. I dont see what either team accomplishes with this dealAngels World Series Championships : 2002
Rams NFL Championships : 1945,1951,1999

Re: nevin trade a no go
So the Padres didn't accomplish anything by getting rid of Nevin? The guy is not a catcher. I give him credit for offering to do so, but he just doesn't cut it. At first base his stats defensively are misleading.
And making room to allow a possible up-and-coming youngster named Xavier Nady isn't an accomplishment? Who possibly has a better bat than Nevin at this point in his career?
And trading for a pitcher that can finally fill in for Eaton so the likes of the Darrell May's, Tim Redding's and Tim Stauffer's of the world don't have to be forced out there every fifth day?
Yep...Texas is apparently closer than Baltimore now
So... what does Texas get out of this?
where did u hear this?it's not up on any site.MLB,ESPN,or rotoworld
My guess is that Nevin will be in a corner outfield position.Comment
