Will Griffey be dealt?
Being a long time Reds fan, but an even longer Griffey, Jr. fan, I really hope Jr isn't traded. Playing healthy for the first time in a long time, he is really looking good this year. Hopefully the Reds wise up and don't deal him.

Re: Will Griffey be dealt?
True, and while I would love to see him get some jewelry, I would hate to see him go. He's the only reason that I watch baseball, and especially Reds baseball. But with Freel coming back, and a few bats starting to come alive, I really hope management holds on to him.Twitter - WTF_OS

I doubt anyone wants to take on his contract, especially with all his injury problems.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Unless the Reds eat 3/4 of his contract... which they won't... he'll be staying put most likely.

Re: Will Griffey be dealt?
I think Reds will try and move Griffey but in the end it's most likely he stays in Cincinnati. His contract makes it hard to move him and he has a no-trade clause which will make it more difficult to move him (and he has said in the past he has no interest in playing in New York). It will be easier for the Reds to try and trade him over the winter than it would be right now, so ithink he stays put for the rest of the season.Comment

Re: Will Griffey be dealt?
The STL Post Dispatch keeps making comments about how he'd look good in the NEW Busch Stadium's right field "if the dollars could be worked out" and they've mentioned it a few times.
I guess they're hoping Jocketty will go after him next year, or eat his salary this year until Walker comes off the books (since he makes a nice lil' chunk of change himself).Comment

Re: Will Griffey be dealt?
The Yankees looked at Seattle's Randy Winn, Texas' Gary Matthews Jr. and Colorado's Eric Byrnes. Also, Michael Kay reported on his ESPN Radio show that the Yankees called the Reds about Ken Griffey Jr., but were told he wasn't available. One AL executive said the reason the Reds are not putting Adam Dunn or Austin Kearns on the trade market is because the team may be sold and that decision should be left to the next administration.Comment

Re: Will Griffey be dealt?
What a difference 5 years makes. I remember when Griffey signed his contract with the Reds after he was traded and everybody commented on how affordable it was (he gave them the home town discount). Economics have changed a great bit since that "affordable" contract makes him untradable in today's market.Overall satisfaction also makes the decline!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment
