Manny did not ask to be traded to the Mets, the Mets asked about Manny, though i agree if he can't handle all of the attention he gets in Boston there is no way he would be able to handle New York.
Don't be surprised if this winter we hear Many to Texas rumors (again), this time for Mark Texieira.Comment

None of the above is a thug. Since when does getting shot and not shooting back make you a thug? Manny Ramirez puts his foot in his mouth every time he opens it. I'm glad we didn't get him.New York Mets

I laughed out loud when I saw that statement. Manny is one of the hardest guys to figure out. I was shocked during the ESPN trade deadline special when Buster Olney said that the Jays had called Boston in regards to Manny. I think Manny can be a headache but i'd love the guy on my team.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Manny speaks out
Manny and Pujols are the best right-handed hitters in the game. Glad the sox kept Manny. Another 4 RBI for Manny last nite. He is an RBI machine. Looks horrible on one pitch, then hits a 420 foot line drive homerun on the next pitch.Comment

Re: Manny speaks out
Exactly! They never intended to trade Manny in the first place. It was too good to be true. They wanted to create a little hype to get Manny pumped up and it worked. The Mets just went along for the ride. I was one of the first people that said I wanted Manny to play for the Mets, and he still might one day, but I didn't want to give up Milledge and Petit. One yes but not both. Anyway it's over for now. Just wait until December when it all starts up again. I for one believe that Omar would have claimed Manny when he was placed on waivers last year.New York Mets
