Local Radio Talk Show Host makes Stupid/Dumb Comment

So Im reading all about here in the Bay Area about Larry Kreuger who is one of the betterknown sport talk show host on the Bay Area's leader in Sport show KNBR 680 and he makes this comment... "brain-dead Caribbean hitters hacking at slop nightly." and "You have a manager in Felipe [Alou] whose mind has turned to Cream of Wheat."

I mean gimme a freakin break...yeah the Giants suck this year but you dont go on and say this on air. If you have something liek that to say keep it to yourself are say it with your buddies or something. Dont go on air and say it to millions of listeners. I dont care how big he is he should be fired or demoted or something....

Krueger's a hack, I always turned his show off when I was in the Bay Area. Him and Radnich are a joke. Here's hoping KNBR actually terminates him, there's no excuse for what he said.

I listen to larry kreuger's show every night and was listening to that particular show when he said some stupid stuff. He's just a hardcore giants fan and was pissed off like the rest of us. I personally like larry, out of all the talk show hosts on knbr, i think he's the only host thats not afraid to speak his mind (though that might get him in trouble).

The thing that's especially stupid about that comment is that if you look at a lot of the Giants Latino hitters: Alou, Alfonso, Visquel, they're pretty selective hitters both this year and throughout their careers, especially for Latino players.

I don't listen to local sports radio due to the fact that it serves no purpose for me, and haven't listened for a few years now.

I wouldn't say it is out of the realm of possibility that hosts often make borderline racist comments, knowing that the majority of those who hold positions are white, anglo-saxon, males. Add that people who host radio shows are individuals who weren't good enough to be real athletes or smart enough to graduate university with a degree requiring precise analytical skills, and this looks to be more even more true. If you pile on that radio hosts are essentially rewarded for pushing the limits of good taste, I think it's even likelier.

If I offended anybody who is a communications major, I'm sorry, but your classes are comparatively easier. In general, reading text from a cue card is a lot easier than developing a sound business plan, developing a function in C, or walking and chewing gum at the same time.

As for the comments, well they're pretty offensive and stuff but from the impression I got from hearing about this last night was that Larry was just letting off steam and probably wasn't thinking it through. If i'm KNBR I wouldn't fire him but make him apologize publicly on the air. If he doesn't have a history of doing this kind of stuff then he should be given a 2nd chance.

He is really opinionated. I used to like him, but lately all he does is rip the Giants. I wish they would can the Razor. I can't stand Ralph B. lol

He's passionate about the Giants and goes off a lot. He even called out the other hosts at a time. I dont think he's a racist, but his comments were very dumb. Knbr sucks no A's or Raider(even tho I could I cant stand the raiduhs) talk. Tom Tolbert, Rick Barry and Rod Brooks *cough uncle tom* are the only guys I can stand

Still a very dumb comment to make... If he says that the "whole team" is hacking at slop, that's one thing... To take it to another level and single out a group of players pertaining to a particular ethnic group, that's straight dumb.... That's like saying this group of players is less talented or incapable of performing.
