Let's get Buck/McCarver and Scooter off of Fox first. Then Joe Morgan can come next.

      As Michael Lewis said:
"As the governor of Louisiana once said, the only way Joe Morgan can lose his job is if he got caught in bed with a dead girl or a live boy. Short of that kind of thing, there is no level of stupidity that he could express on ESPN that would get him canned, because he's Joe Morgan. What are you going to do about it?"
Here's a good article about Joe and his thoughts on Moneyball.

I wonder what would happen if Joe Morgan knew that the career leader in wins is also the career leader in losses, would his head explode?

That site is hilarious, and so true.

He said something tonight that I'm still trying to decipher... the basic gist I got was that players hit 4th in the order to get sacrifice flies and RBI groundouts. Or something...

Haha...he was saying meaningless stuff. He was talking about David Wright being moved up to 5th in the order, and how that is a "run producing" slot in the lineup...and as such, it is his job to get runs in any way he can. So by hitting sac flies and rbi groundouts, he was doing his job. But it's all so stupid, of course, because every damn player is supposed to get runs in.

He's good for a handful of "you didn't really play baseball, did you" quotes every Sunday night. How some HOF'ers allow him to sit on his throne as their unofficial rep is beyond me.

I don't know if anyone caught Baseball Tonight before yesterday's game, but Karl Ravich did a pretty good job in taking Morgan to task. He didn't follow through, unfortunately, but he had him set up to look like a real moron.

Jon Miller is such a great broadcaster yet i can't stand to watch sunday night (or any other night Morgan calls a game) Baseball because Morgan gets on my nerves. I wish ESPN would can him and put Miller with someone good like maybe Steve Stone.
