I meant that Jeter caught the ball in fair territory. I had never seen that Wright play though. He went to where most players would stop and lean in but he just launches himself into the stands. Unbelievable.

Does anyone have a vid? I saw it once on Sportscenter, and it looked like he could have just as easily caught with his glove. Not trying to say the play wasn't amazing regardless.

Edit: His play jumping into the stands earlier in the year still tops my list for best play of this year.

I think he might have had a shot with the glove, but it's hard to tell if you watch it real-time.

Thanks. That convinced me. He could have just as easily caught it with his glove. Amazing play though. DW's got a little Jim Edmonds flair to his game.

i saw it in real time thats why i posted it. It was just crazy. Hey Kevin Mitchell could of caught it with his glove too lol. Anybody remember that play and that was in the outfield.


The greatest catch of all time has to go to ozzie smith. He was in mid-dive and the ball hit a rock and skipped up and he caught it with his bare hand while still diving lol it was just crazy i don't know why that play isn't shown more.

Cameron's was also good and like Wright's (and UNLIKE Jeter's) he had to sacrifice his body to MAKE THE PLAY. Jeter's catch was made in fair territory and his momentum carried him into the stands. Yes, it says something to not concern yourself with maybe hitting the wall, but it's not like he would have been thinking if I don't dive into the stands, I don't make this catch

Just saw the replay at my gym today. Incredable play. This kid is gonna be a stud at 3rd.
