    R.I.P. Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe

Ted 'Double Duty' Radcliffe, a former Negro League star thought to be the oldest pro baseball player, died today. He was 103.

I'm surprised no one has posted about this. If your like me I like baseball history. This guys was a six-time all star in the Negro Leagues. 3 as a catcher and 3 as a pitcher. Once in double-header he played catcher calling picthes for Satchel Paige and in the next game threw a shutout. When will you ever see that ever happen?

Last night on Fox-32 news in Chicago they replyed an interview that Corry McPherian did with him a couple of years ago. He told the story on how he played exibition games against legends like Ruth, Gerig and Cobb. He tells a story about how he threw Cobb out while he was trying to steal. Before Cobb attempted to steal the base he told him that he ain't never had a ****** throw me out. So he tried to steal a base and was caught and he told Cobb that 'Today, this ****** threw you out'.

103 years old at the time of his passing. RIP

I remember reading something in Sports Illustrated a few years ago about this guy. He seemed like a heck of a player in his time and a pretty darn good person after.

His "Double Duty" feat will never happen. Heck, even in high school and lower, you probably would never see a guy catch one game and then pitch the next. That's a lot of strain on one's legs.
