Not sure why, but I'm not terribly surprised by this, looking at it from a Derek Lowe perspective.

The dude moves out to Los F'n Angeles, where there's more attractive women, and more sheer sex in the air (though I've never been there, but this is just the image that I have in my mind :-\) He moves away from Boston and he's sort of "free", so I guess he took the freedom and ran with it. This doesn't make him any less of a scumbag IMO.

I'm glad Trinka Lowe and the other dude are trying to get more attention to this issue, otherwise, in the future the media would portray Lowe and Hughes out in the same manner that they now do with Johnny Damon and his adultress, Michelle. Lowe comes out looking like a complete jackass through all of this.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure Derek Lowe was arrested for domestic abuse towards Trinka Lowe a while back (sometime in the late 90's). Not sure whatever came from that, but it's somewhat relevant here.

This story was on the front page of the Boston Herald like 2 1/2 weeks ago. The headline read, "A Lowe-down Cheater." They did a completely one sided story of it (Lowe's wifes side).

Basically he's been seen with the woman who covers the Dodgers for Fox Sports West, I guess it would be. Lowe's wife says that Derek got an apartment on the same block as this woman, too.

Really, I'd like to hear what Lowe has to say about it before commenting.
